Ok heres the dilema. Just got the car all put back together.
I have the dsmlink set for -42 on the maf settings with 350 dead time. About right for 780cc injectors right? I am still running the 1g base fuel pressure obviously because I havent got it started yet to adjust it.
Well the car won't start it tries to but backfires and the plugs smell rank with fuel.
I have the maf translator but it is for the 1g I have the settings zeroed out. Now I know its gonna read wrong, Right? So is that why its not starting because I need the maf translator for the 2g? I'm really confused, when I first tried starting the car I forgot to set it to 780cc's from 550's and the car made one hella loud pop out the exhaust, which it doesnt do now. But the car refuses to start, it kinda bla blah blahs at 350rpms while cranking it over but nothing.
Another question on wonderful Hal's 1g dsmlink guide it states
"The actual MAS reset and idle switch leads will vary depending on the model year of your 1g. If it's a 90, it's one set of pins, if its a 91 - 94, the same pins are used, but swapped. Remember the FSM in the required parts list? Get this wrong the car probably won't start."
I have a 90 model car and I used Hal's wiring diagram down to the nail. Did Hal base this off of a 90 model or 91-94 car which might explain why it wont start.
I have a question about this too, it states that pin 38 on 2g goes to 66/63 on 1g. So I connected both 66/63pins to pin 38 on 2g is that right?
I'm sure its something stupid, I hope one of you can point it out to me. I really want the car running again.
Thank you.
