1g DSM Tongue Weight?

Been searching for this but cant find a thread that gives a specific answer since most of what I find is for pulling actual trailers.

Trying to figure out if my 92 GST could haul this bike rack around with my Ruckus on it. Total weight would probably be around 300-350lbs

Do you already have a class three hitch on your DSM? If so, isn't there literature that says what it can support? I'm sure the car can hold 300 lbs, the question is, can the hitch and it's attachment points support 300 lbs.

I'm pretty sure any class three hitch can hold 300 lbs. But I have never seen a class three hitch for a DSM.

If you've got a link for a receiver that will hold that weight, I would love to see it. Been looking for sometime and just figured I'd have to do something custom to get a decent receiver under there.

I don't think it will be a problem for the car to hold that weight.

im more worried about the car itself. I don't have anything yet on it, if the car can hold it I'll get the hitch/receiver for it.

Put a couple hookers in the trunk and drive around to see how it feels. That should be around 300 pounds. It seems like finding a class three hitch for a DSM would be the tough part.

I've had a DSM engine in the back of a 1g AWD and it handled it quite well. There was some squat, but with some stiffer springs I'm sure it can handle it, FWD as well.

A couple hookers? i guess you're going for the medium to large sized ones, .... not that Id know anything about that. I don't know of anyone that makes a hitch for our cars, its definitely gonna be a one off receiver hitch.
