Hello Experts,

I have a 1990 Talon TSi AWD. I purchased the car, it came with the typical 8-piece SS Braided line upgrade. From what I'm reading, for me to go to a 2G or Outlander front brake upgrade I need to have a banjo type fitting vs the threaded fitting my 1G currently has for brake lines.

Is there any way to source the one SS brake line that goes from my strut to the caliper that will fit the Outlander brake kit? Or can you tell me what types of ends I need so I can get some custom brake lines made?

Thank you in advance,
Mike

I thought you used Outlander calipers?

This is a base model 1g 3kgt/stealth caliper. Not a banjo like 2g DSM.

Outlander calipers are the same as any other dsm or 3kgt dual piston Caliper. I used the base model 3kgt calipers. What’s important is the brake bracket from the outlander and the outlander rotor.

The Caliper pictured is the same ones I used. :)

I think they were pointing out that Outlander uses banjo like a 2g vs that pic of 3kgt which is a flare like 1g.

I am curious if outlander pistons are like 1g/2g or 3kgt or something else altogether. Don't remember that being discussed.

I haven't put them on yet but here's the Outlander 2 piston banjo calipers and the required lines for the big brake kit. I have the drilled Outlander rotors as well.

I have a couple reman Outlander calipers if you’re curious and need measurements. After the banjo flare adapter didn’t work I just bought regular flare fitting 3kgt calipers. Mainly because one of the Outlander calipers had a stripped bleed screw.

Where did you grab those lower lines from? thanks

If anyone is curious, here's the measurement of a base model 1g 3kgt/stealth front caliper piston.

FWIW, they fit under my 16 inch Enkeis, but there's not a ton of room. OEM 16's may be tight.

Pretty dang close.
The FSM says the 3S NA M-R57W caliper piston is 42.8mm x 2 compared to the 93+ DSM AWD M-R56W caliper is listed as 41.3mm x 2 (the 2G FSM says 42.9mm x 2 for same M-R56W caliper) WTF.
