i need help i broke my brake line driving to my friends house and now im stuck there. i order some SS brake lines but my friend house doesnt have any tools. who every done SS brake line on a 1g could u plz help me out. i need to know wat tool do i need. could u plz list the stuff i need to do this. im kinda suck. i havent got my lines yet but i want to be prepared so i can do it with no problems. i probably need 10mm flare wrench right? anything else? plz help thanks.

I had a rear line go out a little while back. Although I did not put on SS lines, I do remember what a B*TCH it was to get my old line off. I will HIGHLY recommend using a set of fitting wrenches so you don't ruin the lines. The wrenches look like a six sided box end wrench with a small slot cut out of it. I remember the strut mounting bolt is a 10mm, and I know the new line i put on was a 13mm, but since you are putting SS lines on i am unsure what exact sizes you would need. I would bring a 10mm, 12mm, and 13mm and you should be good. :talon: :thumb:

thanks for the help i hope when the lines come in it will come with instructions and stuff. i might do a tech article on this since they dont have one. :thumb:

i just did mine on a 2g, it was a pain to get the old hoses off. i used a good pair of vice grips on it, being careful not to break the line, and it worked great on all four wheels. i tried 10 mm line wrench on it and i couldn't get it, had better leverage with the vice grips. not the best way to do it, but thats what it took for me. bleeding the lines was easy, and once you get them installed you'll probably love them! make sure you have plenty of brake fluid, you don't want to run out have way through like i did. hope this helps

how much brake fluid did u use? i pretty much empty my lines since i was trying to stop when my brake line was cut open. it was scary driving on the freeway goin about 80 and could stop i was kinda screwed. lucky im a good driver. :D
