1G BOV Resurculation

On a stock setup never recirculate. With a gm maf, you can, but you're losing inbetween shifts spool time.

I havent ran my dsm Vented but i did run my wrx vented and it would pop and backfire between shifts even once when i did a pull and let off put the clutch in it ran so rich the car stalled so just please spend the little money on GM maf if you want to vent.

you can hear it pop when it open bov

thanks man that really helped actually how much did you end up spending for all that...the GM MAF. the translator the cuplings?

You're welcome! I still have the stock 1g MAS, that is just a picture I found doing a quick search. If you were to buy everything new:
MAF Translator: $199 FULL THROTTLE SPEED - MAF TRANSLATOR FOR 1G TALON/ECLIPSE
3" GM MAF: ~$30 used on ebay or the classifieds.
2 Silicone Reducers: $20 Intake Pipe Reducer
4 T-bolt clamps: $10 T Bolt Clamp

Thats about $260, less if you could find a deal on a used Translator.

I just found a "package deal" on a website while searching, everything I just mentioned for only $414.99. What a ripoff! Here's the link: MAF Translator Kit Eclipse/Talon 4G63 - CI Motorsports

Hope this helps!

I'm going to ask this since I know he will and I would also like to know.

When using the translator with stock injectors you just buy it for your stock car and it requires no tuning from it correct? Then when you step up to larger injectors it will compensate for them by just simply putting the percentage increase over the stock injectors correct?

I've never really found very much information on it that wasn't overly technical about set ups I probably wouldn't run for quite some time anyway.

That's my understanding of how it works. Like I said though, I'm still on the stock MAS and have never used the MAFT-T.

yes.

no. it adjusts the amount of airflow the ECU receives to compensate for the larger injectors. so effectively if you have 20% bigger injectors, the ECU sees 20% less airflow and thus sends 20% less fuel to what it thinks are the stock injectors.

i mean im actually going to buy a really cheap big FMIC FIRST would anyone know where the best place to get one is i didnt see anyhting on ebay that was great of a deal im looking to spend like 200 300 on the kit

Just do the VRSF or Punishment racing kit. Both are very affordable and you won't need to upgrade it either. I've been running a hx40 on mine at 50lbs/min and it's cooling the charge fantastically.

I wouldn't use a 3" MAF on the stock intercooler pipe. The stock piping is all rubber and very small diameter. You would have to rig it up pretty nasty to install it.

I love my VRSF! http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-turbo-system-intercooler/386137-1g-vrsf-fmic-install.html
