Congrats again !! How much boost are you running and is it holding steady or spiking ?
What the details on these drag tires your running now ?

Nice run. Low 10's on a 16g.... Crazy.

Well it went 10.5 on the Snow tires a few weeks back. :)

The tires that are on it now are around 25.5 M&H DOT tire. I bought for racing in the street tunner class.

She is shifting OD at 7500rpm and letting the auto do 1-2 and 2-3 shift which is around 6200-6400rpm. In watching the video it looks like we could just keep it in drive till 8k and not shift.

This combo is built around what we all ready have not what we can buy.

It is spiking just over 30psi in the lower gears and holding just at 28-29psi all the way down the track.

We put a 2nd fuel pump on last week so that helped quite a bit but we are just out of injector so the 1200s will go in soon so we can try and crank the boost more. I kinda of doubt there is much more, but we will just have to find out.

Here is a very happy pic of my wife

Great stuff! If you could modify the shift point up around 7000 and run a 26-26.5" tire you'd be there no prob.

Anyone know the tallest tire we can squeeze under a 1g with a 15" rim?

Toss an FP manifold on that thing!

AWESOME times.

What Ive been thinking, there still so much left in it in hard parts and weight reduction its not even funny. Lucas , I think you should go for high 9s before retiring your efforts; but I know you were saying your building the car around what it already has on a budget so that might not happen. Congrats though!

It's a bit different froma 16g. And reportedly, FP does turbine work to make it an FP68hta too.

Correct. It isn't a 16G in the same way a 14B isn't a 16G.

It has a TD05 housing, but these MHI-type turbos are generally named by their compressor wheel.

16Gs have a 6 double-blade compressor wheel.

This HTA68 has a 7 blade wheel.

Well I have a small up date.

I was able to pull off a 10.2 tonight. Did a burn out before the run to better the 60ft. Ended up with a 1.4. I knew the launch was in T-case break zone on how hard it was but due to no video I tried again but ended up breaking the case. I might get the video up latter of my launch and carnage.

I raced at 2 tracks today and made 15 passes total. Most ever pass was in the 10.5-10.3 range. Once again this car is just amazing.

I was running around 12psi.

We knew it was just a matter of time! How much damage did you do?

Plan on beefing up the drive line now?

Congrats either way! 1.4x's is boogie'n outta the hole! :applause:

Noting on the market to make the Tcase ring and pinion stronger. I will just stop the pre launch and keep the 60ft above 1.5 and I will be fine. I knew I was pushing my limit but I had to find out how much it could take.

Only takes 15min or so to toss another case on and go racing again.

Damn 1.4 60' is pretty nice,
Do you know what causes the failure, does the case deform or is it the gears that are the weak point?
Someone needs to make an indestructible gearset for trans/xfer case and we would be set, I've already got the trans part worked out but nothing in production yet(very expensive).

Well not sure but pretty sure 1.4 60ft were never meant to happen on stock casese. Its really not that big of a deal. I was trying very hard and had the tires very hot. No need to do that any more.

It grabbed 2nd gear in the burn out which is pretty intense.

The awesome part about the Auto is you can control what the car does every pass ware as with a clutch car no matter how good you are there is a chance of the mistake.

I chose to push it since the car had been running so good all year and i felt with how cold it was that this was the chance to make the car run its fastest ever which it did do.

Thats good news.

Did you have anything done to the case? (welded up gears etc?) Wonder if you could set the LSD's up to slip a little more so it wouldn't grab so hard. Think you could cryo treat the gear sets?

Seems like a shame to not take advantage of those 60's!

How are shep and other "big names" Tcase's holding up?

Well the big guys buy brand new cases and have upgrade 300m shafts on them. Seems a fresh Ring and pinion will last for quit awhile. Still a matter of time till the ring and pinion breaks. Also the Auto stuff is a little smaller the the 5 spd.

Also setup and track conditions play a big role.

I keep telling people the auto t-case is different, but they insist it is the same as the M/T. The auto has 6 bolts that hold it to the transmission, where the M/T has 5. Still, the gears are "supposed" to be the same.

Nice... maybe you can try to push it a little more on the long run. Is it still the stock tranny or is it built?
