So my motor is out of my car, the only place I could find in my city to machine it from the oil pan to the head, with me buying any parts I may want them to install charges $1200, is this to much or is it worth it?

Depending on how much work it needs, yes, that is about average. The machine shop wanted $500 just to assemble my bottom end for me. Not that I would trust anyone else to assemble it anyways.

Spun a bearing, so disassemble inspect assemble, bore, deck, will have compression and oil pressure when I pick it up

For a reputable shop that stands behind their work, yes. If it is destined for rebuild, you will breathe a sigh of relief when you get your motor back all pretty...unfortunately it won't ever be "cheap!" Let us know how it goes.

That is not to bad. Just make sure they know what they are doing and not just trying to make a quick 1200 off you. Our shop charges around the same price depending on machine work needed. Keep us posted and GL.

Well I was thinking the same thing hints my question, can anyone give me a full list of any parts I could buy before I take my motor to the the shop, nothing internal that's what was explained to me by the shop until they get inside, like what brand gaskets (gasket ket) timing belt, oil pump. Just anything I could have ready for the shop without them telling me that I need it, just trying to spread the expense out.
THANKS FOR ANY HELP!

Yeah pretty sure they are not trying to make a quick buck cause my first plan was to take the car to a speed shop here, they wanted 6000 to pull the motor and install it,this was with me buying all the parts and the speed shop using the same machine shop I will be going to just found that out by luck, so that would have been big 4800 dollar hole in my pocket and I would have been hurt!
THANKS FOR LOOKIN OUT.::thumb:

anyone?

My advice would be to do just a little more research and call up JNZ. Just tell them what you want and they will get you taken care of. You could even check out the build threads here for plenty of awesomeness.

Thats why they invented the mailing system you know USPS, UPS, and FedEx. Lol
^^^Lol but he has only $1200 and I just assumed that shipping would be quite a bit and if he's limited on funds it might just be cheaper to find someone locally to finish the job. Granted I have nothing against JNZ as they have done work for me and I planned on a bit more in the future.
