Wiring harness questions...

Wasn't sure where to post this...

I'll try to post a pic soon, but I found a small single wire connector coming off the rear engine harness that I didn't mark (or it was never hooked up). The wire color is white/black, and it looks like the fuel pump test plug, only farther along the harness toward the driver side. It looks like it is spliced into a yellow/green wire inside the harness, but I haven't dug through the tape enough yet to be sure. Anyone know what this is? I can't seem to find it on a wiring diagram.

Also, can I just cut and wrap the ends of the wires for the FPS, cruise, and EGR? (at least I think that's what it is... it wasn't hooked up when I bought the car). In other words, I want to make sure the ECU isn't expecting a connection with one of these...especially the cruise control since I never fired her up with that disconnected.

Yes, that's fine.

I think the connector might be the terminal for detecting the engine revolution speed. I looked through the FSM and it looks like it has a B/W wire, later going to G/Y, but I could be reading the diagrams wrong.

Eric...are those 1G diagrams? I believe the fuel pump test wire is B/W, and the one in question is W/B.

You may be right... from what I can tell in your diagram, that would be about where it was before I tore the loom off and started moving stuff

unless it IS the fuel pump test plug, in which case I don't know what the other one is that's close to the timing ground plug
