Move the throttle cable under the intake manifold and get rid of the brackets that are bolted to the fuel rail.
Relocate battery or get small battery.
Remove cruise control.

I can't really see that much with the smaller pictures. If you have larger ones hosted elsewhere, post up the links so it's easier to see the wires. Other than that, it's looking really good! Any pictures of where you put the fuse box? How did the process go for you?

Thanks man! Ok. How in the HELL does the throttle cable go under the intake, I tried. And tried. And tried. And tried and I could not get it to work. As for the fuse box? Its directly under the intake pipe, I used the original bracket and moved/encouraged it a little bit to sit how I liked it. That, a zip tie and under an hour, there she sits! Any pictures of how you mounted the throttle this way? Does it just sit under there or what? I was hoping you or your brother would chime in here haha, thanks!

Check my gallery. I just relocated my fuse box and a lot of other things. I started a thread on it, but no responses yet. I have a lot more to do yet, but its a free good start.
where did you place your fuse box at looks pretty clean engine bay by the way. whats the first steps you did? I know yours is a 2g but still applies to a 1g

Since you still have cruise control, this might be a bit more difficult. Have you tried running it through the gap in the intake manifold? Underneath the plenum there should be a "tunnel" between it and the runners. If not, get rid of the cruise control, get an N/T throttle cable, and it'll be easy. Mine is just hanging there, only attached at the firewall and throttle body.

I've read a few people who have relocated it to there. That is definitely a lot less work that relocating it inside the cabin, which is what Eric (turbosax2) is doing and what I'll be doing.

Here's how my throttle cable is, as well as a few other members:

And if you want to get really clean, you can route all wiring underneath the manifold. I also wrapped all underhood wiring with Painless Powerbraid. It came out quite nice.

NOW THAT IS DEAD SEXY!!!! VERY VERY NICE!!! :thumb:

How much was painless powerbraid.
The company I work for is a dealer, so I get special pricing, and I can't share that info.

Check out Summit Racing for a good retail price on the stuff. There are several available diameters and lengths as well. For everything to do an entire engine bay you'll probably spend $100-150, but it was well worth it, IMO.

Good link! Ill have to keep dicking with it. As for the fuse box, yeah I didn't even have to extend any wires, the glove box is still the winning choice, by far.

so i wanted to give you guys a picture to see what im working with, and I will post pictures of the process and the end result. I am going to do a full wire tuck/ engine bay cleaning to make it seem like a full race set-up. i will be needing many advice/input heres the pics:

You can also check out this stuff from Jegs. It looks to be the same, just cheaper. Paul, is there any difference that you know of (other than price and brand name)? This is what Flash used in his engine bay. You can check out his summer build thread for more info.
JEGS Flexbraid Wire Cover - JEGS
Yeah, that stuff looks identical to the Painless product that I used. I'd be willing to bet that Jegs buys and private labels the stuff from Painless, or they both buy from the same supplier. The Jegs brand stuff is definitely cheaper. Nice find. :thumb:

My fuse block, is mounted underneath my intake pipe, I used the original bracket moved and twisted a wee' bit and a ziptie, out of sight, out of mind :) good luck with yours! At least your engine is out? Haha.

Get rid of the cruise control and A/C. They clean up the engine bay nicely! They also make working on the car a whole lot easier :thumb:

Thanks. :thumb:

My brother use to use this (braided wire loom) stuff when he would work on computers.

You can remove the alarm hood switch and the motor hoist near the exhaust manifold if you want. On my brothers car we painted the backs of the headlights black - it looks better than the white in his black engine bay, although you don't really see much of it usually (see his gallery for pictures if you want). Also, I think the bay looks better when you take off the sticker on the firewall and the sticker on the radiator support.

I was thinking about what to do as far as the wiring and car goes. So I decided to take all the wiring and clean it all up. I will be building this car to be among one the cleanest engine bays / wiring like I've seen numerous people do. So i will need a lot of help from everyone on this site. I will try to work on it daily or as much as possible. so this is what I did so far today.

I started to take the dashboard off.

I'm almost done my wire tuck, but I have two wires that I have no idea of where they go to. One is a green with a black strip, that is pinned into the large blue connector under the dash, behind the radio. Its part of the ECU harness I think and the dash harness plugs into it. I need to know what connects to this wire

The next wire is green with a red/orange strip. Its part of the ECU harness and is pinned at the large connector that was under the engine bay fuse box. I need to know where the other end pins into. I think it goes to a ECU connector I just don't know what pin it is.

Green/black goes to a relay in front of the blue connector behind the radio, it has a yellow connector. Green/orange goes to ECU pin 20.
