I took out ALL the loom that was making up of all the bulk, and exposed all the bare wires.
Then I just electrical taped all of them 2 layers. Made them much easier to move and bend..Took me about 3 hours. Not bad bein Im not TOO mechaniclly inclined.

That looks a thousand times better, great job! I like what you did with the plug wires too!

Does look a lot better.

I hope that the red vacuum line that has a tee in it by your dump tube isn't for your bov. :nono:

:shhh:you werent supposed to see that...:shhh:

Looks better but you should hide the spark plug wires with a cover.

I plan on it..I want to have one custom made. Just giving myslef sometime to think of ### to have engraved in it..any suggestions? Wish I had the original for the time being tho.

Thanks alot for the replys guess...Makes me feel like I didnt something right for once.:p

I'd rather see the ignition wires loomed and tucked under a cover instead of rubbing on the valve cover like that. You'll probably have spark leaks at those points first, as well as rub through your valve cover paint.

Hey guys I had a chance to do some thing to my engine bay a couple weeks ago. By no means am I trying to hi-jack the thread because what I'm posting is relevant to the topic..
Here's a pic I could find from before...

Notice the airbox under the hand... it was removed also..

Here's some pics of what I got done. I removed alot of existing brackets, which were unecessarily heavy and big. Brackets removed were for the ECU, Fuse box, Air box (as mentioned above) clutch fluid, coolant resevoir fliud, fuel pump relay, and I think thats it. I didn't just remove them but I fabbed up some custom mounts and new brackets with some thin sheet metal. These were also MUCH lighter. By the time I removed everything, it came out to around 20 pounds (excluding the CF hood and AC charger) worth of OEM brackets, bolts, mounts, etc.. FOR FREE! :thumb: Converted some steel OEM pipes to SS braided lines. I also relocated the fusebox 4 inches up and 2 inches inward, so it sits directly next to my BOV for a clean uniform look. The ECU was moved up about 2 inches torward the strut tower. Both of them give a floating stance, I hid most the brackets so you can't really see them. Kinda looks like the fuse box and ECU are just floating there.
Used zip ties to hold everything in place while I was fabbin things up..

I didn't get a chance to wipe off any dirt or recoat anything. in fact, the powedercoat on my charge pipe is coming off, so I'll be sending everything out to get chromed in the near future. While that is being done I'm going to respray the bay too, mold over the existing bolt holes, and add some catch cans fabbed from aluminum. Alot of this stuff is simple you just need to move some wires around and find new paths for everything to go. I tucked alot under things. I bundled alot of the main engine harness together and tucked it under the battery tray also. I haven't even got to the passeneger side yet but hwen I'm done it should look good.. Believe it or not even nuts and bolts, couplers too, can make a huge difference in appeal if replaced or cleaned..

I only got a chance to clean up the driver's side area of the engine bay. When I start up the passenger's side in a couple weeks it should look much, much, much better. Alot of the clutter there can be removed for more space.. I'm also going to be making some beauty panels for shows.

Up next is the passenger side..

Once I actually wiped alot of the dirt and oil off the parts you can really notice a difference in the color and cleanliness of the bay. You guys are doing an awesome job alot of the bays are looking good. It's tedious but worth it if you really want something different. Keep up the work.

Anyone have pics of how they tucked the passenger side wire harness?

That has been yet to be figured out by me so far. Just dont know how I'm gonna do it.
I mean the wires need to be there and there's really no way to tuck them unless the whole fuse box was to be moved, wich I'm considering putting in the glove box if I dont put my spare gauges there first.

I've been researching the whole rewiring process over the last few months because I plan on doing it myself this summer.

The fuse box harness is completely separate from the main engine bay harness. The main harness comes out of the firewall underneath the battery and goes near the fuel rail, firewall, and thermostat housing mainly. The fuse box harness travels underneath the radiator and goes inside the drivers side fender. If you remove the fender you will see where the harness enters the cabin. The way I plan on doing the rewire is to move the fuse box somewhere inside the cabin (probably glove box but still looking for somewhere cleaner). The main harness will enter the cabin at the same place as the fuse box harness, so hardly any wires will be on the passenger side of the engine bay. This is a major undertaking to rewire everything like this.

For people who don't want to put in this much work, try the following ideas. This is what I have already done to my brothers car to clean up the wiring without doing any major wiring. Move the harness that travels along the top of the firewall to the bottom of the firewall. A few connectors need to be lengthened (windshield wipers, brake fluid, etc.) Ditch the emissions crap on the firewall to clean it up more. There is a harness that travels near the battery, on top of the trans mount. Move this harness underneath the trans mount instead of on top.

Here are some more pictures for now. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

Just curious..in your first picture, it looks like there is a small SS line running at the bottom. If I'm not mistaken I believe mine is a hard line. What is it for and how do I go about changing it, because I get kind of scared messing in that area only because my hard line seems to be weak and kind of brittle so I'm kind of scared to mess with that area for the sake of not busting that line .

Thanks! Thats kind of been bugging me for a little while.. I'm going to save those links to my comp and DEF. use them at a near later date. Its kinda funny I came across this too, becuse I was just sayin in another post how I didnt like my clutch feel at take off etc..

Thanks again!

Did you see post #10? That's where I put it and is a very convenient and clean location for it.

Yeah on the firewall, but is that where boostin2high put it? See, I was trying to do this a while back and at first I tried to put all the wires underneath the IM... well that didn't work because there wasn't enough slack. If I remember correctly, I don't think there was enough slack in mine to put it on the firewall.
