Alright guys, well I just finished my 14B install in my 95 GSX. All is well besides some minor oil leaks on the return line and the SS feed line at the filter housing. There was also a VERY minor coolant leak from the front banjo bolt on the turbo. I tightened it a tad and I think i went away. Now the turbo is spooling really late because I think there may be a leak before the turbo.
Now on to the problems.

1. The turbo does not smoke at all besides at WOT sometimes it blows out whiteish grey smoke. I'm trying to think of where it could be burning coolant. It never did this before the turbo install.

2. There was some white smoke the past 2 days at the manifold. I'm thinking its the shitload of PB Blaster that I sprayed all over the car but I'm not sure.

3. There's a smell coming from my engine that I can smell if I pop my hood and it becomes more noticeable when I'm driving and really get on it. It smells like burning plastic sort of, with a mix of burning rubber. The lower heat shield is not on the car because it's a pain to get on and I haven't put it back on because I haven't had time. Nothing is touching anything hot so I 'm confused...The only possible thing is maybe I pout on a new 4 ply exhaust mani. gasket as well as antiseize on most of the bolts and the turbo-mani. bolts.

Any help? Thanks.

I know the turbo needs a rebuild. but i'm about to switch to a 14b turbo anyway ( in about 2 weeks ) so i'm not that worried about rebuilding the t25 and i hope getting rid of that POS t25 will stop the smoke unless its my valve seals.

Also i dont think its condensation because it smokes when the car is hot to.

p.s. does anyone know if its ok to connect the oil feed line on a 14b to the oil filter housing or should it go to the head, and also if it does need to go to the head how would i do that?

Well i just rebuilt my motor about 5,000 miles ago not even.... The other day i stated my car it turned on fine but white smoke started coming from belt area then some was coming from exhaust.. i figured it was oil burning so i went to work well once the car warmed up it lost its power but i was still reading -20vac and 11psi boost when i punched it but it didn't feel like the normal 11psi then the car would die if i let it idle so does anyone have any ideas i need help fast this is my only car and i don't want to mess anything up so its sitting in my driveway... HELP ###

Did it continue to smoke during your driving?

This sounds to me like a head gasket failure.

Did you drive it hard in the past few days? it seems wierds that for 5k miles after rebuild there was no problems. Also, a blown headgasket may also cause loss of power due to the loss of compression in the cylinder, a compression test will easily check for my theory and i suggest just that :)

p.s check you coolant reservoir for any milky oily mix with you coolant, if it gave up around an oil runner, there is a posibility it mixed with coolant.

You didnt blow the motor because it obviously starts/runs etc. you just have to endure an order of procedures to pin point the issue and where its coming from. a blown head gasket is a common issue. Checking the manifold gasket is equal to checking your exhaust pipe, it would prob fix the dilema of where the white smoke is coming from under the hood, you manifold gasket could be leaking exhaust fumes but the main issue is the smoke and loss of power, a manifold gasket does not cause that :)

I compression test is in order I think my friend it's the easiest thing to do right now go borrow a tester from autozone or something ,look on here on how to exactly do the test and go from there but yest ,typicly white smoke is coolant not oil , oil will be blueish

So, I am having issues. The car will barely idle, if I put it in neutral, or stop completly it dies.

It will not crank and idle 9/10 times it idles for a few seconds, surges, bogs and idles rough until it dies, I can't even keep it started long enough to check base timing, but DSM Link is showing 5* of timing when it is idling right, and 5* of timing with the engine shut off.

It is also poooooooooring white smoke on cold starts. I don't have a whole lot of coolant in the car, its about a 80/20 mix water/coolant so it does not smell sweet so I cannot really tell if it is oil or coolant burning.

Engine is a fresh build, I have checked for boost leaks, couldn't find any but I can't find my BLT, been doing the soapy water method as well as I can with it dieing after 20 seconds or so.

It hasn't lost any oil so I am unsure if it could be burning oil. It would have to burning a very little amount yet still producing a HELL of a lot of smoke.

did you ever resolve this problem?
im having the same exact problem. fresh rebuild. the only thing that isnt the same is it doesnt poor white smoke. that could just be the assembly lube burning off though.

I had the same problem, it started after cranking it like 5 times then bogged and died unless I pressed down on the gas until it got warmed up, it ended up being that 2 cylinders were dead because of a bad coil. Blew white smoke as well, first thing I checked was compression and had 160+ across the board. Make sure you're getting spark on all cylinders.

head gasket...... eclipses are notorious for it. start with that. go mls or cometic

Fresh rebuild, smoke doesn't smell sweet so more than likely not the head gasket.

I'm getting spark in all 4 compression is 155-160 all four. It starts revs up to 2 grand drops to normal idle and then bogs and dies. What could it be?! And I also have 100psi oil pressure when it's up at the 2 grand other wise it's 80. Is this bad? What could make it do this?

Hello I am a new user but I have been reading the forum for some time.

My car is running about 15 pounds of boost and at full throttle the car smokes out of the exhaust for a bit then goes away. The smoke is white. Also there is oil on my valve cover near the spark plugs. What is my issue? Are these problems related. This only started happening after i put my boost controller on. The dipstick does not pop out.
