Which turbo will be sufficient for consistent 11 second times? I've recently decided on a big 16g, but will that be big enough to run 11s with supporting mods and decent tuning? Remember, this is for a budget street car, so any one purchase over $1k is tough. A big 16g will run about $700-900, which is about $300-400 less than the larger alternatives.

Of course, I'll need lots of practice to run these times, but, I just want to make sure that it's possible before the money is spent.

I wouldn't personally buy the FP3575 due to the shaft breakage problems I've personally seen. FP even mentions them on their website for people running over 30psi. I have a friend that just made 527AWHP@27psi on a Dyno Dynamics dyno (heartbreak dyno) on a dual ball-bearing T-67 on his 2.3 stroker with a decent DSMLink tune. That was on 92oct pump gas and meth injection. It uses a T3 flange and it's a badass turbo. His car is also a daily driver. He was running very low 11s on his FP3052 before he got his T-67. Something to consider.

Here is a video of my friend making 527hp:

Good to see he got that going. Should be a bad ass car for sure :rocks:

Yea i know, another 'Which turbo' thread. I'm having a hard time deciding what i want.

Built 2.0, bc 280s, jmf smim.

I am shooting for 500+awhp on 94 pump/meth. Would really prefer decent amount of boost by 5k, i can handle a little over that though.

I was really looking into the 35r, but i would like to see a few more options. How would a pte t4 3582r spool?

Should i look more into the t3 or t4? How about a bbt67, i have seen that there are t3 and t4 options.

Would a 4bolt hotside be good enough, or should i opt for the vband?

Not really looking to spend 1500 on the turbo or a ton on a mani.

Thanks for reading guys, any suggestions are appreciated

if you have 2500 bucks, id def go with the 3052 and the FP manifold! With the tial on the 02. They sell everything you would need, it would be 2500 with everything (like 4inch intake, turbo, lines, 02 housing, wastegate, and manifold) Def will get you HP up there, Nasty turbo. If you want somthing cheaper with a mitsu flange, go for the green. Put your built motor to the test

I am looking into a PT6776 right now. I have a T3 .82 hotside SC6152 right now and the little T350 turbine wheel is holding me back from making 600whp. With turbos this size you should expect 35psi around 5500 (Journal Bearing). My good friend on a 10.1:1 Magnus motor is seeing 30 psi right at 5100 rpm with his PT67 with a P trim turbine wheel in a T3 .82 hot side, his turbo is ball bearing and the 10.1:1 helps spool. Right now on Talk JnZ has a group buy going, these sized turbo are a little more but this is the prices I got yesterday from JnZ...
PT6776, T3 .82 hotside:
$880 Journal bearing and
$1120 Dual Ball bearing

If you only want 500 wheel a 6152 may be a good choice for you, but be warned...
you will want more.

Custome Built Tial Sport GT35R FTW! Spend some big bucks and outperform everything. There is a local guy around here that has one and it spools faster than a Regular 35R but has the Top End output of a 40R.

Rediculous Turbo's and they are worth every penny. Im not sure what it will cost you but I got quoted $2100 CND for it.

I had a scm6152 on it, i hated spool time with that thing. 25psi at 53-5500 based on the gm map sensor. Basically, im starting from scratch again. I was in the process of swapping my entire setup from a GST to a GSX, and everything was stolen. $5,000 in parts were taken from my trunk, i had put them in the trunk for a few days until i could tear the gsx apart. I am hoping that the insurance company will come through and i can get something out of it. So now i would like build it right the first time.

Im leaning more towards the t4 hotsides since i have talked to 'Twicks'. Maybe a t4 35r or something. What kind of spool would you guys expect out of a t4 35r with a .70 a/r? I know the 280s and smim will hurt spool a little.

I was looking into a t4 6152r, but i have not seen any info on the 'r' series.

Thanks for the suggestions, keep em coming.

If your SCM6152 did not spool untill 53-5500 rpms something was off... in that little mitsu bolt on hot side it should spool faster then that. In my SC6152 with a T3 .82 hotside I see 35psi 54-5500 rpms. A T4 35R might spool up right before 5K, but in the power range you are looking for there going to be some lag.
The T4 Hotside 35R will get you your goals though. That is a 600 whp turbo. What I was talking about in my last post was in reference to the hotside, if you get a T4 make sure you get a good size turbine wheel.

I am in a conundrum over why a "custom" GT35R turbo could possibly spool quicker than any other GT35R but flow as much as a larger GT40R (hot and coldside)? This special turbo in fact may be gifted, but unless you give the specs, why post?

sbcxtreme, I run a 60-1 w/ a t3 stage 3 turbine in a BEP housing. I wish I had opted for the stage 5 or P trim wheel. W/ the higherflow, one could yield more hp per psi. Not having to run so much boost would cause a setup not to be so sensitive to pump fuel octane. So your idea of running a full t4 hotside is a good idea. But spool will certainly suffer.

A 60 trim or 60-1 compressor will push enough for your goal and a t3 stage5 turbine w/ a 0.63 a/r housing will flow enough for your goal. And such a turbo can be had for under $1000 if you go with a journal bearing center section.

I am aiming for 500 awhp or more on pump, and the turbo I chose is the PTE SC61. It's a non ball bearing. I am also running a 2.0 liter motor with JMF SMIM and some other stuff. Fully built of course. I chose Forced Performance FPCam2x Cams.

Hope this helped.

Where would you guys think i would see at least 25psi with a bb t67? I dont know which hotside yet, so give me an idea. either t3, or t4.

FP is working on a custom GT35R that spools quicker than the original, but I don't think it's going to more power. There was some preliminary test results from Buschur on EvolutionM.net. I'll see if I can find it for you.

Any more input on this?

I have narrowed it down to a 35r. Just not sure which way i want to go with the hotside.

What would be the big advantage of going with the .68 t4 over the .82 t3? One of the things holding me back on the t4 is that i can not find any with a divided hotside.

Currently in the process of building a high revving 2.0l awd drag talon, but can't really decide on what turbo to power this thing. Been researching and looking at a bunch of different routes I could take, the gt35r, the fp3065, fp3075. With the 9.0:1 compression i'll be running spool time will be increased a bit, but i'm still trying to decide what turbo would be the best since the car is mainly going to be up around the 6k-9k rpm range the majority of its life. Any suggestions?

I can't really comment on the FP3075. I've read some about but not enough reading or personal experience to comment on it.

But both the GT35R and FP3065 are great turbos. If you have the money I would go GT35R route more effiecient and a bit more power potential. :thumb: You can't really go wrong with either of the two.

Well, we can't help you if you don't say what mph/et you are aiming at.

Would love to dip into the 10's, car won't be daily driven so lag isn't going to be annoying on the street.

If you're doing high rev for drag, I would suggest a GT40 or 42.

I've looked into the GT42, but i'll do some research on the GT40, thanks.
