Which turbo will be sufficient for consistent 11 second times? I've recently decided on a big 16g, but will that be big enough to run 11s with supporting mods and decent tuning? Remember, this is for a budget street car, so any one purchase over $1k is tough. A big 16g will run about $700-900, which is about $300-400 less than the larger alternatives.

Of course, I'll need lots of practice to run these times, but, I just want to make sure that it's possible before the money is spent.

Get a ported 2G exhaust manifold and some variant of a 50 trim.
Or if money isn't an issue go full Garret GT30R or FP3052 set up. You shouldn't make a decision on injectors until you decide which turbo you want, You can go as big as you need to since you have DSMlink. You will also need an AFPR to keep that 255 under control and give you that extra edge in tuning. Have fun, looks like you got a nice setup there. :thumb:

My recommendations:

PTE 680cc injectors
Ported 2G exhaust manifold
Tial 38mm external wastegate
Precision Turbo SCM34 (57 trim, dare to be different. Great numbers have been had on it)

I'd wait on the shot of nitrous when other components to make your Talon go fast are there to be had. Cams and a SMIM would be better buys than n20 at this point and just as much power can be gained and had ALL THE TIME rather than when hitting a button.

you have a pretty built engine already i would get

264/272 cams
720's
60-1

your car would be very very fast yet still streatable I also would agree on holding off on the nitrous

I also have HKS 272, so I am almost set on nos. thanks for the advice keep it coming. I am also sending in for a shephard trans soon. :talon:

if you have the cams then i would still look into a 60-1 I would love to have an engine built enough to get the full potential out of that or if you have the money you could get a fp3065

i'm looking to run mid 12's on pump gas. i've thought about the evo316g and some variant of the 50 trim. my car is a reliable daily driver and i want to keep it that way more than anything else. i'm not looking to break 11's really, just something that will give me good power and spool time for street/highway driving and some room for extra power if i need it. please help..

I am sure this has been posted a million times and I did do a search but couldn't really answer my question fully... I know there is no "right" answer for this post so I will try to explain myself really well...

I am going to be building up a spare motor for my 94 Talon TSI AWD. I am going to give it the works. I am going to build it up as much as I possibly can for a street car. Currently I just have the stock turbo and I am looking to get something much bigger...

Keep in mind that I am going to be driving this car as a daily driver. I would like to get upwards of 400hp. Alot of other DSM'ers have been telling me to get the 16G Evo turbo with the ported inlets. This is my first Turbo car I have owned (I have only owened Supercharged cars before this) so I am a little weary on what to buy. People are telling me the 16G turbo will easily make over 400hp and spool up very fast. Personally I don't mind a little lag, it's not all that bad but having a turbo that spools fast would be nice. I also see that AMS sells some really cool Turbo kits as well. My other friend is telling me to get a T3 or a T4 Garrett Turbo, he says that is exactly what I want. Basically people are just telling me different things left and right and I am seriously ready to order a turbo but I need to decide which one!? Can anyone offer me any advice on what kind of Turbo to go with as I am very confused here... All help is appreciated.

Chris

you want 400hp daily driver?

id get something like a 50 trim. my next turbo will be a AGP RS60T. i have a evo16g now, its a good turbo for a amatuer tuner getting into these cars, but after a while, you will crave more.

400hp daily driver doesn't sound realistic? Anyways I was considering the 16g Evo III Turbo from SBR with ported inlets and outlets for better performance. I don't want to buy something however that I won't end up satisfied with down the road. I want some serious hp but I also want this car as a daily driver.

no 400hp daily is realistic, but not out of a 16g.. You have to decide if you want to play with the hondas and whoop them (16g) or come out and play with the big boys.

Yeah I was thinking along the lines of a 20g would be nice. How about a T3 or a T4? What kind of numbers do you think that thing is capable of putting down? Basically I want to have a 400 plus whp daily driver. I want to play with the big boys ;)

400whp on a daily driver with a full t/3t/4 kit is very easy. We have made 600+ whp daily driven cars. I'm sure most of you have seen the black evo, this is just one case. Eric and I both drive our cars daily and much enjoy the 600whp.

oh sorry if my "you want a 400hp daily driver" question came out suggesting 400hp daily driver is a strange thing. i didnt mean that at all. i just meant it to restate the threat topic. sorry for the confusion. :thumb:

a evo16g has done 400hp but i think it was sbr that was doing it, i forget the mods but it was pretty worked up. its alot easier to get a big turbo and barely use it to get high numbers, then to get a little turbo and having it maxxed out and blowing hot air.
