ok i am going to get a new clutch for my car. i was wandering which one i should go with. i was thinking of the act 2100. Dont think i want the 2600 because it is a daily driven car and will only go to the track a couple times a year. if there are some other brands you all would suggest let me know. i want a good streetable clutch for a cheap budget.

Seems like mixed reviews on the XTD's but mainly positive reviews from those who have actually had experience with them... :hmm:

What will i do...
When my clutch craps out i'm getting a xtd stage 4. Why pay $400 more for a clutch with the same reviews, maybe worse. No matter what i'm sticking with a 6 puck unsprung, it lets me run a lower pressure plate with great grip, shifts faster, and no springs to break. I recently read a post by jack from jacks transmissions and he says the same thing, sprungs disks are garbage.

cool man appreciate the response, so where would be a good place to get the xtd clutch w/ a 6 puck unsprung disk..? i know ebay has them but their 6 pucks are sprung right...? (correct me if im wrong)....

I have to get a new flywheel as my ACT flywheel is just trashed. I am getting the Fidenza flywheel that has the replaceable friction discs. Yesterday I was out of town and talked to another guy who had a pretty modded GST (he said about 315WHP) he replaced his ACT2100 with a grip force on an exedy flywheel and it has already outlived the ACT.

Now that I have to replace my flywheel it'll be next weekend before I am driving to give my own opinion of the F1 stage 3.

when i get my new clutch on my gsx i am going with the competition clutch 1420 (stg 5)... solid 4 puck disk no springs. but my car is gonna be a monster track car. :D

Alright so my Act 2600 with a race sprung disc took a shit on me after low miles and babying it, so I'm in the Market for a new clutch. I'm real mad about it and I'm definitely not buying another clutch from ACT again, so don't mention them. I want a clutch that will at least handle + 400lb ft. torque, and $600 is my budget. Any recommendations?

I hear a lot of good things about the South Bend disk with ACT 2600 PP
Is your pressure plate still usable?

Hey. I'm running an all stock gsx. I'm planning to get a new clutch but I do not know which one to get. I'm planning to do some mods to the car but right now I really need a new clutch. Any recommendations? and vendors? Thanks

MAPerformance is who I got my clutch from. I had act until if failed like normal and now I have a Fidanza 3.2 and love it.

Hey everyone. I'm thinking of buying a new clutch too. I'm running all stock right now but I will be making mods as soon as I have the money. I was wondering if this is a trusted brand. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/F1-STAGE-2-CLUTCH-KIT-FLYWHEEL-92-99-ECLIPSE-GSX-AWD_W0QQitemZ400040879500QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item5d244b658c&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=72%3A1205|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318

Has anyone ever used it? Thanks

for a stock replacement stick with exedy. they supply mitsu with oem. i think

don't go too light on the flywheel either. stick with a steel one.

if you upgrade, go for a act 2100. you may even find a used one locally for really cheap.

So a Act 2600 would be too much for my stock eclipse? And oh yea, so a flywheel is recommended if i get a clutch kit? Sorry I'm new at this. Thanks for the help. =]

Yes the act 2600 is way too much for a stock eclipse even a gsx... You'd be way better off with act 2100 w/ street disk... Plus it seems to be a myth here that the 2600's are known to cause CW especially if the clutch wasn't properly adjusted, so to avoid that little non sense stick with the 2100...

if your in the market for a new clutch and want something that will hold everything you throw at it southbend clutch's all the way ive ran 3 of them personally and installed 7 never had a complaint and they took everything i ever threw at them, if anyone has any questions let me know also there pressure plate clutch pedal feel is in between stock and a act 2600 right in the middle, i have just about used all the common dsm clutches act,Fidanza,SBR,Spec, Cheap Ebay Knock off's which always seem to be miss machined were it slides on the input shaft etc so far my top 2 are Southbend for how much abuse they can handle and just keep going and quartermaster twin disk's but that's just my 2 cents

looking to get a new clutch put in while my motor is out adn before i put the new one in, im not looking for a strip clutch only something for my daily driver but a little upgrade cheaper is always good too! :D

hey guys just need some info on a clutch for my daily driver. its a 1990 eagle talon tsi awd. stock tranny, stock t/c, stock axle's and d/s. pretty much a completely stock drivetrain. but i have a fully built head, and an hx35 on anywhere from 20-30psi, depending on my mood:D. LOL. now my car is a daily driver. i use it for everything, and need a new clutch. i was thinking of a 6-puck, but not sure of unsprung or sprung. if the drivetrain guru's could direct me in the right path i would greatly appreciate it. oh ya 2 more things. i dont want an act 2600. and i am getting a lightweight flywheel to go with everything. thanks guys!
