ok i am going to get a new clutch for my car. i was wandering which one i should go with. i was thinking of the act 2100. Dont think i want the 2600 because it is a daily driven car and will only go to the track a couple times a year. if there are some other brands you all would suggest let me know. i want a good streetable clutch for a cheap budget.

No you can't use an awd clutch from another turbo awd or fwd, you must use one made directly for your car. Same goes wit hthe flywheel.
Is yours bad or are you looking for aftermarket ? If so i believe centerforce makes clutches for your car.

wow ok now i get it. its the whole assembly.... man thats ###. so if i buy say a aftermarket clutch il have to buy a neon flywheel to make it work? so do i buy a clutch for a neon also or for my make/model 2g? also is there a way i can tell a modular from a non modular?

And yes if ya want to use a after market Non modualr clutch u will have to get the flywheel from the Neon. Most aftermarket clutch for the 420a, you must get the flywheel. We share the same clutch as the neon becuase our motors are made by Chrsyler..

thx alot man. LOL this car has been nothing but a headache so far. and it looks like a long road ahead. =)

just double checking here. the flywheel has to be off a 94/95 neon so a 2000 neon flywheel wouldnt work?

nvrmnd. im actually scrapping the idea. found a stage 1 modular clutch so im going with that. thx guys!

I'm on a budget because I'm currently rebuilding my engine, when I am done it will have somewhere around 300 HP, what kind of clutch can handle that? And I would still like to use the stock flywheel because I just recently had machined.

Does a lightened flywheels cause you to cruise at higher rpms?

Do 4-puck disks really destroy clutches? I'm thinking about getting fidanza's 3.2.

My best recommendation is don't buy a Fidanza 3.2. I have had two in my car within the last 5-6 months, and now have to buy a new clutch again (1000 miles after installation). Don't get me wrong, they feel great and all... but for some reason just don't work all that great on our cars. But that is just in my personal opinion... unless someone else cares to chime in.

southbend takes my vote i love there clutches ive only heard good story's plus im running there DVD-F series with the SS Heady Duty Pressure plate and its amazing

running at close to 300 whp and trq. my clutch is slipping in high gears. thinking about the 2100 w/streetdisc clutch. what do you guys think. i like the feet pressure on the 2600 w/sd but a little too expensive. low on money. think a 2100 with sprung 6 puck will hold as much as the 2600 w/sd? or should i just go with 2100 w/sd. not planning on anymore major mod. just DD. and highway pulls. maybe track now and then.

Ok so i have a 98 GSX and i can tell my clutch is starting to go out because it starts to shake when i accelerate hard so it cant handle the power, i have a act 2600 and i've had it for quite a while so i was wondering what is a good clutch kit thats under 500 dollars and can handle about 20 psi and will last me a long time. i dont go to the track and i dont race on the streets i just like to drive around and hit the gas pedal once in a while. mods i currently have is just an HKS blow off valve, HKS turbo timer, straight downpipe, injen intake, act 2600 clutch and a few others, thanks for reading and your help is greatly appreciated. any more info you need on the car just let me know, thanks.

well i like the ACT 2600 but i was wondering what other options there are like something that lasted longer, where did you get your clutch?

Why dont you have your pressure plate looked at to see if you can use it again and just get a new disk.

i have the 2100 and love it. pedal pressure feels really nice and the engagement very smooth. it will handle up to about 350 tq with no problems. since you are fwd, it is a safe bed that you are not gonna do any hard launches - not because you can't, but because your wheels will spin.
all the best

PS: and price is lower compared to the 2600. i am sure u'll love it.
