ok i am going to get a new clutch for my car. i was wandering which one i should go with. i was thinking of the act 2100. Dont think i want the 2600 because it is a daily driven car and will only go to the track a couple times a year. if there are some other brands you all would suggest let me know. i want a good streetable clutch for a cheap budget.

I would definately recommend the SBR 3500. I have it in my car and I love it. Less pedal pressure than a 2600 with more clamping force. Pedal effort is minimum. I didn't notice much of a difference than when I had my ACT 2100 in. You won't ever have to worry about slipping again.

If it was me I wouldn't recommend either of those. What I would recommend & run is the CenterForce Dual Friction clutch, it holds more torque then the 2100 & is just as easy on the thrust bearings, RRE tested the PP as 2500. If you follow the break in procedure correctly & have the correct flywheel step height it will work great for you. For flywheel I'd recommend the Xact streetlight because it weighs in at ~12 lbs vs the stock 18, so it drops a good amount of weight but its not light enough to cause driveability issues (at low speeds & sometimes stall with a stock idle) like some of the aluminum ones that come in at 7-8 lbs.

Are you still on the 7 bolt?

I've never had any problems with ACT clutches. My 2600 has lasted a good 35,000kms with lots of drag usage and no signs of slipping.

A friend of mine runs a 2100 in is low 12 sec AWD.

I always have heard that Act clutches are good. I would rather go with the Act clutch kit because: 1.) Its cheaper with the package dealer, and 2.) The 2100 would go with my 7 bolt well

What should I do?!?!?

I have a 2600 street disc and it is pretty stiff. Can't hold it in at lights and in traffic. I would recommend the 2100. Especially since you are only FWD and won't be launching on it like a AWD would.

Easily. I ran over 410whp on my 95 GST with no problem. Didn't track it that much though but it held the power just fine.

2100. I have a friend who has put at least 50 passes on his 95 tsi awd with a 2100 and he typically runs between 12.1-12.3.

SPec Stage III would be my choice...

I ran one in my 91awd and it was amazing!

Super light pedal pressure, but its a 6-puck and holds 415lb ft. of torque...

Plus, you can't beat $300 shipped!

BTW, Im not a fan of lightweight flywheels for drag racing

Guess its a little late now ;) but yes that is the clutch I'm talking about & yes I'm still on the stock 7 bolt.

Well, not wait just a second. I am still open for suggestions. Plus, Daren, I like how you have experience with the whole heavy duty clutch with the 7 bolt. And I am assuming you don't have any symptoms of CW because of the new clutch??

See, I like the whole "package" deal that the Act clutch has got with the Fidanza flywheel. But! I believe that this centerforce dual friction can hold up better (clamping force wise). I just don't know. Here let me look at it numbers wise:

Act's "package" deal w/ Fidanza flywheel= $550.00
Centerforce dual friction clutch w/ Fidanza flywheel= $565.00

Well, hell, for $15 more I can get this centerforce clutch (which seams like a better clutch, according to you Daren). The only thing it doesn't say with the centerforce clutch is, I don't think it comes with an "alignment tool" (if that makes any difference/ or do I even need it?).

Well, Daren, you have now changed my mind. I guess I will just fork out the extra 15 bucks and get the centerforce. Thanks!

Yes, you need the tool. I know ACT sells them, I think they are $15. Any alignment tool for you car will work

They'll probably include an alignment tool unless it specifically says it isn't included. Another vote for the Spec Stage 3 here. Low pedal pressure, grabs HARD. I've got a Fidanza in there with it, and I have no drivability issues either.
