I am looking at replacing my BOV. I was looking at the Greddy XS, but I seem to be seeing people with Greddy problems aplenty. What BOV do you like? Why?

Also, what is a safe PSI for a stock turbo? I hear rumors that anything beyond 14 will raise hell on the engine.

Yes you can and more like a whisttle than a whoosh that a TurboXS makes.

Also 13SECGST, if you had a Type S and your car jerks when you shift you need to adjust that screw on top. I think you got the setting on it too tight and doesn't let enough boost out in between shifts.
 
I love the H-34 CBV (same as RFL, but allows you to recirc) but the Tial 50mm is HUGE... I don't like the "flapper type" valve system, but DAMN... 50mm? IMHO I would get the H-34 CBV... all metal, piston type valve... (just remember to lube it before you install it):thumb:

I second that Jason. It's a problem on all boards, not just here. I haven't even totally decided on what car I want to get, but I've joined a few boards to do some homework. One other thing I'd like to say, because it seems appropriate with the bashing thing. Whomever it was, and I assume they were from this board, who came on to 240SX.org and bashed the hell out of 240s using the name "AWDOWNSYOU" (including the wonderful use of caps). I believe you were from here is because it was literally the day after I posted a few simple questions on a thread titled "Hello." If I find out who you were, I will make sure you are banished from any boards you are on, including this one.

I "third" that. People are just trying to have a nice conversation about BOV's and some dumbass has to interupt the flow. These polls are helpful because newbies like me can find out about good BOV's. There are a few manufacturer's that I'm looking at, and this poll gave me a few more. I think I'm going with TurboXS RFL, but for now i'm stock.
 
i'm kinda torn between 2 bov's. I'm either gonna go with a stock 1g, or a GReddy Type-S. I like the GReddy and have heard good things. but the 1g just makes the car look more stock. And should i wait and buy the bov and buy it and my Upper I/C pipe at the same time? Thanx!!
 
It would be less work if you wait but its really up to you. As far as the blow off valves go if you want a real dope one check out HKS SSQV but a valve that is in a reasonable price range and is a 2G drop in is forged motorsport fast road dv. I know 2 different guys with it and they highly reccomend it.

Get a 1G BOV & UICP. It's WELL worth it. I just installed my new UICP today and it's AWWWEESOOMMEE :)
 
I like my 1G BOV. No more leaking, more power, and cooler psssh sounds even when its recirculated. I have mine on a Dejon pipe.
 
Get the stock 1g BOV and use the money you saved for other mods:thumb:
 
I just installed my GReddy Type-S last night. I have a Home made intake, stock UICP, and the BOV is recirc'd. This bytch is loooouud even recirc'd. Im extremely happy with the results (thanks Candela for the hook up).
