Which BOV? [Merged 3-8] what bov best bov

I am looking at replacing my BOV. I was looking at the Greddy XS, but I seem to be seeing people with Greddy problems aplenty. What BOV do you like? Why?

Also, what is a safe PSI for a stock turbo? I hear rumors that anything beyond 14 will raise hell on the engine.

I have used both Type S and 1g. Both are good at holding boost. I personally like the type s more cause it is way louder and I was recircing it...I wanted to vent it but never could cause I lost the little screw and now the whole hole is all messed up and needs to be re-tapped. The 1g is much smoother, the type s kinda jerks when u let off the gas and hear it...it jerks harder than normal and you will notice it but to me thats not a big deal to be able to hear that loud pssssssssshhhhhhhhhtttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

I have the greddy s and it works/sounds good vented or not. But if you want sound. Go with TurboXS RFL they are smoothe sounding and loud as hell. Sounds like those big 18wheelers

Get the Type S or HKS SSQ. Both can vented or recirculated, sound nice, and can hold boost

is it possible to have a BOV that is TOO loud??? hehe I personally like the ones that everybody else has cause they have been tested, people like them and they work...this is how I see it.

1g=quiet sleeper BOV that feels nice while driving.

Type S= Good functionality...can vent or not and sounds nice both ways...little harsher ride however..no biggie to me. Sounds like a normal loud pssht.

ssqv=Good for venting..not really for recirc, sounds like the turbo cars on Gran Turismo 3 and is higher pitched.

Pick what you want cause all three of those are good choices...it just depends what you are looking for. Like I said before I chose Type S cause I like the sound and can vent it if I want but it still sounds good recircing it.

I think the blitz can only be vented unless u make a custom pipe to recir. it...I have had the hks and greddy....I got tired of the hks sound so i recirculated it but it sounded worse than the stock 2g. Now I have the Type-S and I like it more than the hks. It sounds real loud recirculated and even louder vented...

I have the Blitz and it is pretty loud but it can only be vented unless you can find someone to make you a recirc kit for it, and I still haven't found anyone to do it yet. Other than that I love it. Its deffinately louder than the HKS though, well at least louder than my friends HKS. Kinda rough though if you let off the gas real quick after being at WOT. I'm having a problem with running to rich right now cause I'm venting.

Seems to me the HKS SSQ is the best in terms of performance, I personally like the Blitz Super Sound BOV.

Go with the turboXS rfl, its cheap and i am positive that it can hold the most boost out of all the bov's out there. And yes it can be recirculated, all u have to do is unscrew the horn and screw in a threaded pipe that is the same size as the hose that goes back into the intake tube.

hay man, i am not new to dsm's, but i am new to actually doing engine upgrades. so I find this thread to be very useful. yes i see your point about maybe renaming it, but it's nice to get a good idea about what everyone is using. that way us new people ("newbies) no what to get without getting junk. so please understand not every one on the board is a 12sec (or lower) dsm'er yet.

I just joined the board at the beggining of the month, and have already learned alot. But one of things that i have seen that i don't like is all the bashing. i come on here and try to learn as much as i can. alot of us, including me don't post very much, if ever. i just sit back and read what all off you have to say. but when im reading a post, and starting to understand what's being said, i then come across someone that decides they need to come in and post some stupid sh1t to throw off the hole post. which then turns into a huge argument. it's not needed

i feel odd posting this, becuse i haven't been a member for long, but i feel it's needed. just becuse you don't find the thread to be usefull dosen't mean that someone else out there dosen't think that it is. I understand that there is alot of dumbasses out there (newbies) that post anything that comes to there stupid little minds. but remember there are also newbies out there that don't, and that are on here to learn.
