I am looking at replacing my BOV. I was looking at the Greddy XS, but I seem to be seeing people with Greddy problems aplenty. What BOV do you like? Why?

Also, what is a safe PSI for a stock turbo? I hear rumors that anything beyond 14 will raise hell on the engine.

eclipsegsx, order UICP from dejontool and have them put on whatever flange u want for the bov of ur choice, u can buy the bov from them too. Its a lot easier that way u dont have to buy the flange seperate, or install it urself, the uicp comes with it alread on all u gotta do is bolt the bov to it and ur done.

yes, but this does cost more :p
 
yes, but a leaky bov when vented, is also a leaky bov when routed back to the intake, it just matters a little less because its air tight. Not only that but i dont like having a rerouted bov, makes things cluttered in the engine bay, having a big ass extra tube to work around whenever i do anything to the motor. Some people like re-routing, some people like venting, simple as that.
 
i am buying a new bov this friday any suggestions i have the stage 1 hrc i dont wanna weld or anything like that i just want 1 that will take the stock ones plave i want a loud 1 maybe a nice whistle it dosent matter just not stock
 
My 95' GS-T currently had a 1g BOV on it and it sounds nice and dandy, but im kinda looking for something a little meaner. I'm thinking about either a HKS SSQV or a Greddy Type-S. Whats all your guys thoughts?
 
Yeah I recommend you try one of those as well...I've been looking to upgrade to a new BOV but don't feel like doing any custom fabrication to have it fit. These look cool but no one seems to have tried one out yet. Not sure if they sound any different than stock or if they perform better or worse.
 
LOL na; i heard the type-s a while back in a almost 400hp (389) car; it was screaming 'look at me' or soomething... just too nosey for my taste;

I have the Apexi Race BOV, venting to the atmosphere. Its similar to the Greddy type R. VERY LOUD, and it sounds almost like its laughing at you??? :thumb: Or laughing at the car next to you maybe...

i got my type s basicly for free and i love it, holds more boost than ill ever need to run and now that i have it tuned just right to where im not getting any surge it sounds bad as hell.. i get comments on how cool the car sounds from old men in suvs at stoplights heh.. a nice cybernetic psheeew.. im in love :D



and in case anyone thinks its lame to like the sound of a bov, you can eat my ass :cool:
 
I'm just running the stock 1G bov.....how do u guys crush it? I'm running the HKS SSQV on my 240sx and love it....so i think i may run it on the dsm in the near future also.
And for those of u running the tial 50mm....HAHAH......BIG TIME OVERKILL for ur cars!!!....LOL.....my buddy was running a T88H-SPL 40+psi OMG on his supra with that BOV (over 900whp) and he said it was even overkill for his.....LOL.....unless ur making like 700hp or running 30+psi that bov is OVERKILL......and it'll open late and only under hard boost.....dont get me wrong i love that BOV and know its the best on the market....but it truely is overkill unless u have a BEAST!
 
im getting ready for the tuning stage on my car, ive got a big 16g and was wondering what BOV to go with? im planning on runnin 20 or so psi oh yeah 92 talon tsi
