Which BOV? [Merged 3-8] what bov best bov

I am looking at replacing my BOV. I was looking at the Greddy XS, but I seem to be seeing people with Greddy problems aplenty. What BOV do you like? Why?

Also, what is a safe PSI for a stock turbo? I hear rumors that anything beyond 14 will raise hell on the engine.

how bout not spending unecessary money and using the stock 1g bov because its more than plenty for your needs? Thatd be too stock i guess for some, so get the 1 that goes pshhhh loudest.

Recirculating - I would go with the HKS

just run it open you don't need a bov. It will get better aiflow to the throttle body and it will have great boost response.

note the sarcasm I've had and do have a Greddy type s. I like it, would also suggest the hks ssqv, or tial. the greddy is nice since it bolts right up and can be vented back in.

Greddy just came out with the replacement for the type s, its called the type rs...u could get that!

no i did not rip this name off cuz my auto club is called "stay tuned"........what do you mean by vent and recirculate?....sorry i am new to this............i have heard the apexi and i like that....everyone around me rocks the greddy....i dont want to use the 1g its too common....i am trying to somewhat be a little different with my options than the guys around me....i also like the way the blitz dd sounds but if it doesnt do the job then its useless.....so i guess my choice is between the HKS, APEXi, or BLITZ.....

The difference in venting to the atmosphere and recirculating is.........Re-circulating when the BOV opens it goes back into the intake pipe, and for atmosphere it just goes straight to the atmosphere....hence the name. If you want it to sound pretty loud you'd want to vent to the atmosphere although if you do you might have idle problems and other little quarrels. Hope this helps

both are good bovs, but the tial doesn't recirculate back into the intake the only way you really could run it without being too rich would be a maf setup or hks vpc. I'm not sure if you have a maf setup, but if you do i'd go with the tial.

this should be in the newbies forums. these threads are becoming more and more frequent. search button does alot of good. The tial bov is one of the best IMO. But you probly need no more than a 1g bov.
