Where did you reroute your nonstock fuel lines?

Do not run fuel through the passenger compartment, this is a basic safety precaution.

I wonder why so many cars come factory equiped with the fuel lines goin through the cabin? Good enough to meet federal quildlines and be sea-worthy enough to go on public every day roads.

Just because Mitsu route's 'em under the car from the factory doesnt mean Honda is wrong for havin theres go the cabin.

I know your super-duper smart LandSpeed, but im still gonna have to say, if done right, thru-hull style routing is just fine. I imagine the line in the cabin all short route and tucked in the perfect crevis of the inside of the car perfectly safe not gonna get squished by feet trafic or nothin.

I also picture upgraded line routed under the chassis being totally exposed to all the harsh weather and even gettin "random-chance" rocks flung at it.

To me, (along with other reputable builds) the choice between the 2 is clear.
 
Wasnt going to chime in but I will just for the sake. I own a honda and both my fuel FEED and RETURN lines are OEM and ran underneath the car. Im lowered 2" and drive all over the place. Not a issue for me. DSM should not be any different. If anything I would look into moving the line towards the driveshaft tunnel with some heat tubing. Some of it is good for 1200* F.
 
^really my friends 89 CRX has 'em through the cabin, im at work right now and there is a nissan here that is also rigged like this. If i trully cared so much id post pictures but i dont give 2 craps enough to put forth the effort towards that... To each his own i soppose.

And just because Honda runs them through the cabin means it's safe? I'm sure the Ford Pinto was once considered safe too...

Call me crazy, but I like to have a thick piece of sheet metal between passengers and extremely flammable fluids under high pressure.
 
No modern cars have fuel lines running through the cabin area. Federal guidelines I know have changed since an 89 crx has been produced.
 
Quick question, can ss braided fuel lines be bent about 50 degrees or should one of those elbow fittings be used? The last three leaks sprung were where the fuel line bends. (The ss lines Are 7+ years old) I just ordered all new fuel line and I don't want leaks
 
fuel through the passenger compartment is not a good idea. just because honduh decided to do this does not make it correct or smart. thats kinda like a mechanical oil pressure gauge in your cluster..... what happens when that gauge fails? = hot oil in the drivers face. i have seen some setups in tube frame cars where the fuel line goes through a sort of conduit or pipe/pipes and it looked pretty safe.
 
My dsm is down at the moment and sitting at my buddy's garage where I work on it. I'll try to get some pics for you guys in the next couple days, but here's the "kit" that I made:

10 feet 6an nylon braided hose, 14mm x 1.5 female-to-6an male adapter (flared is the "proper" fitting but I can confirm that thread sealant works just fine), two hose ends, 40 micron ss russell filter, 6an female-to-female coupler, 6an fuel rail adapter, and some zip-ties.

You could just as easily do the same for 8an. Cost came out to about $130 + shipping so this is probably the cheapest route...

Bizzare right?

As unorthodox as it seems just fastening 3/8" steel line to the underside of the car, it seems to be working just fine for me. No leaks either.

There is a high likelihood of fatigue from vibration and leverage of that whole assembly cracking right of your rail.

Does no one remember the fires from hard mounted adjustable regulators?

I can think of 4-5 from memory, including a GVR4 that burned up at a Shoot Out
 
I tuned a 2G in 2006 that had something like that off of the driver side of the rail. We started smelling gas so we decided to pull over. Before we could get to a safe spot on the road and come to a complete stop the car caught fire with us in it. Needless to say, it burned to the ground right in front of us. Please seriously rethink your fuel connections you have there.
 
Just a thought but running rubber line on the braided line could help insulate and protect it. I am contemplating on drilling a hole on the under body and running it in the outer side skirt panel.
