MAYBE...but I don't think subsidize is the word you're looking for here.

E85 burns faster than gasoline, therefore, you're going to go through it faster and more often. It's, simply, cheaper than gasoline to offset the cost of frequent use in an attempt to make it a more "efficient" or "cheaper" alternative to gasoline.

And.. I meant NO discouragement, to Chris, in my post. If anyone wants to run E85, then go for it. I'm not going to lose sleep over it. BUT...atleast you know what the effects of using it will eventually lead you to.

To each his own. I'll stick with good ol' fashioned gasoline.

Laughable. Do you think that refining costs and transporting fees are associated to the price of fuel? When people say that it uses more gasoline to produce than it creates, they aren't joking. The ONLY reason that it is cheaper is because it is subsidized by our government. Why do you think so many farmers are trying to move into the corn market right now? Its because they get large sums of money from the government to grow it.

I would hope they'd be anodized inside and out. I might just go with the natural aluminum lines, as Hal suggested. I really don't drive the car all that much.

I have a box of that Russell anodized line in front of me right now, and surprisingly enough, it's only anodized on the outside. It's beyond me why they wouldn't anodize the inside, but this makes it no better for E85 than the regular aluminum hardline.

I was origionally going to run hard aluminum lines as well, however I noticed that the Earls hard lines to AN fittings were only rated at 50 PSI MAX. Earl's Hard-Line AN Tube Fittings - JEGS That's just a tad over base fuel pressure! Just something to look for when ordering your parts, as I ALMOST ordered everything with these fittings! Its the simple things that get missed. Have you found any other fittings that are rated for higher pressures??

You can use the tube sleeves and nuts instead of those fittings. They are sold by the pair and are cheaper as long as you already have a flare tool.

Alright. On the basis of pushing a bad argument with little factual evidence here, I'm going to retract my previous statement of maybe.

I agree with you, now, that the price of E85 has more to do with government subsidizing on any level that it comes from.

Still, even after I've done a little more homework, I still stand by what I said about sticking to good old fashioned gasoline. E85 is a complete waste of time, MONEY, and resources. I won't elaborate any further because I don't want to pull this thread off topic.
