Where did you reroute your nonstock fuel lines?

Mine are already ran, but I don't like my current setup so Im redoing it. Mine are ran from underneath the car and ran up inbetween transmission and frame but I don't like it because of the tight fit don't want the lines pinched
 
Boostdriven and I both use the factory return (were both clearing 600 awhp and he is closin in on the 700 mark). The factory return will work just fine, BUT, where there factory return makes its way back into the tank it goes through a plastic fitting that has to be drilled out. If you dont drill out/open up the plastic it will make it impossible to lower fuel pressure to the desired level at idle.

The feed, we both have modified fuel sending units, where the factory rubber hose connects the metal fuel line under the car to the the actuall fuel pump top, we have that modded so that we can connect 3/8" marine grade fuel hose (this hose is meant for fuel injection but being marine grade its alot more durable than automotive grade) we then run the 3/8" fuel line through the cabin of the car goin sneaker style down the passenger side door-still.

Now before you all jump on a band wagon sayin you cant run a fuel line through the cabin of the car, thats BS. Its more of a short route, less bends and curves, plenty safe, not on the underside expossed to weather and elements, not ever gonna get hit by a rock, its plenty safe. Hell, Honda CRX along with many other cars route the factory metal piss tubes for fuel in the EXACT same spot.
 
I don't have pictures but I ran my -6 line from tank to filter and ran it between the firewall and subframe. It is tricky to get it in there but once there it was easy to mount the filter right to the firewall, and then the line from filter to rail. I use stock return.
 
I'd like to see pictures to if anyone has any. About to run lines to a fuel cell.
 
Dsmcurse- where is the plastic piece located at exactly? Also what size AN fittings would be close to the 3/8", would it be -8an? And how big of fuel pump are you running?

I was wanting to do a full blown In tank hanger with either 2 wally 450 e85 pumps or a 450 and 255 so that I can get to my goal of 700awhp with an auto.

Hmmm interesting so at what power level (HP) should I start to replace those fuel lines. My power levels are around 350-380 whp DD.
Since I have a 16g I thought that a 255 fuel pump, FPR and 950cc are enough aren't they?
Should I still replace my sending line and modding the return line?

I believe the drilling of that plastic piece is only needed on awd cars. It's the piece that's part of a return line system and sits right on the other side of a fuel pump. On awd cars the drive line divides the fuel tank so there has to be a way to get the fuel over from one side of the tank to the other. That plastic piece creates a siphoning effect as fuel is being returned to the tank and pulls the fuel from the other side of the tank to the fuel pump side. From the factory the hole in that piece is to small to bypass enough fuel when you run high volume fuel pump so you have to drill it out slightly bigger. I can't post any pictures off my phone, I'll see if dsmcurse can post few pics.

As for the fuel line I just cut the factory nut off the metal tube coming out of the fuel pump hanger assembly and slipped a heavy duty fuel hose over that tube and double hose clamped it. From there I drilled a hole under the seat and ran that hose in to the car behind the passenger side panel by the back seat. From there I ran the hose along the bottom of the door jam, same place where the windshield washer fluid line runs. To get the fuel line in to the engine bay I just drilled a hole in the fire wall right next to the frame rail, that's where my second fuel pump sits. From the second fuel pump I just have #6 steel braided line with an fitting going to the fuel rail. I have a drop in 255 in the tank and a Bosch 044 inline in the engine bay. There isn't much pressure between the two fuel pumps because the secondary pump consumes all the pressure from the first one so using a hose works just fine. You can go all out and run a steel braided line all the way from the tank with all the right fittings but I didn't see a need for that since the hose is inside the car anyways and will never be exposed to the weather.
 
Forgot to mention, my return line is all stock except for the modified plastic piece. After installing Bosch 044 inline I couldn't lower my fuel pressure less then 50 psi so after some investigating I found out that plastic piece was the reason. Drilling out the hole in it fixed the problem.

Do you think two wally 255's in a STM full blown dual hanger with -10AN feed and -8an return will feed enough fuel to the rail to get close to 700awhp through an auto? Or will i need two in-tank wally 450's?? (I would use the stock return line like you but the STM Full Blown hanger cant be used with the stock hard lines). Im wanting to use an FIC fuel rail and FIC 2150's along with that setup to reach my goal
 
A -10 feed seems huge. Im pretty sire people running -8 are good for somethin upward of 900hp

If thats the case then -8 should be plenty, I just wanted boostdriven's hands on experience to help guide me so I can reach my goal since he is close to my end goal. I didn't want to come up short on my fuel system when I went to push its limits.... I would ALWAYS rather overbuild a setup than come short of my long term goal and have to upgrade the same thing 2 or 3 times
 
I made a video of my setup, seemed easier. To clarify Im redoing my WHOLE fuel system because Im beginning to spring leaks everywhere and especially redoing my sending unit/bulk head and the wiring. Where my fuel lines are routed into the engine bay, is that acceptable? I will mount fuel filter.. Some of you sound like you have pretty nice setups. And as for routing fuel lines through cabin, Ive seen it done but I wouldn't suggest routing cheaper ss lines in cabin because ss lines like to release gasoline vapors/smell.

I have a goal of 9s probably 8s someday after i go FP and ill be using -8feed to rail -6 return to tank already habe -8AN fuel lab filter to rail. And fic2150s and rewires wally255, im gonna run out of pump before anything else at this rate. Ive contemplated magnus mechanical pump mount. With the aeromotive hex drive pump. Its expensive, but no electrical crap to fail, and its lighter than running multiple electric pumps.
 
Alex, pictures didnt come through on my email... Sorry maybe in a little bit I can get a picture of the drilled out plastic thing. I think compund fuel pump set up is the way to go, but thats just my opinion. Everyone has their own way of doing thing. I like having a nice decent flow fuel pump in the tank pushin through a 3/8"s short route hose to a nice badass super highflow fuel pump mounted in the engine bay right next to the engine. The fuel pump in the engine bay has a healthy amount of fuel given to it from the in-tank. And again, the factory return will work all the way up to very high numbers. I bet 900 whp could be seen with using that half of the factory fuel system

I think 2 wally 255s with #8 feed and #6 return will be more then enough fuel to support 700whp. Dsmcurse has one 255 in tank and one 255 inline with 115cc injectors running 36-37 psi of boost on hx52 and his injector duty cycle is about 85% which is perfectly normal. I have a set of 1350cc injectors right now and my duty cycle is about 75% at the same boost level. We run water/meth so our duty cycle values are lower due to added fuel (meth) but I'm sure if we were to run race gas and no water/met the duty cycle numbers would probably go up by 5-10% which would still be fine even in dsmcures's case where he would have about 95% duty cycle.

Great! Thanks for the info Alex!! That will save me some money in my fuel system with only having to use 2- wally 255's compared to 2 wally 450's, and the smaller fuel line will will be cheaper as well. :thumb:

is the pictures with that plastic piece before or after u drilled the inside out to make it flow more? Looks like the hole is still pretty small

No problem.

The piece in the pictures have not been drilled yet. The hole looks like its a little over 1/16th of an inch. If I remember correctly I drilled it out to 1/8th of an inch.
