Yes, that line is supposed to be hooked up to the nipple. The nipple off the intake manifold provides the vacuum for the brake booster. The hose itself from factory has a built in check valve inside the hose.

If the hose is replaced with a regular hose NON OEM then you need to install the inline check valve by cutting the hose in half and putting the valve in between the two pieces.

I don't know how much clearer I can make it.

Here is a 2G setup with the large nipple on the intake manifold closer to the throttle body; obviously the hose and position of the brake booster are exaggerated a bit:

Here is a 1G setup with the large nipple on the intake manifold closer to the timing belt:

You should only have one of these, not both.

Anyone by chance know the thread size and pitch of the Brake booster vac nipple? I think its either, 1/8 BSP or 1/8 NTP. Thanks

jj2gdsm - There is no nipple there on the 2G manifold. Only a boss casted in.

I don't think it's that small. I'd guess it was closer to 1/4".

The first pic hose nipple is definitively the brake booster vacuum line. You must have the inline check valve in it to prevent issues.

Well JNZ has a replacement vac fitting for the PCV valve that is 1/8 BSP and this vac fitting fits in there. I just don't know if they are the same pitch and I don't want to force it and ruin the threads of my spare valve cover. I do believe the 1/8th measurement is the internal bore not the outer diameter but I could be wrong. I guess I'll just have to have it measured at the shop downtown.
