Whats electronic on the intake manifold

I have a 92 Eclipse Gs-t I recently took my intake off and foudn that the ignition is connected to it, but there was this large black plastic thing that had an electrical connector going to it and 2 screws on the side that look like wire hold downs, but they were not connected. Can anyone shed some light on what this thing is and where i should go about looking for the wires that connect to it. As of right now it looks like it serves no function since it doesn't have a probe that goes into anything unless it just senses vibrations through the intake?

Throttle position sensor or Idle stepper motor, the TPS is a 3 wire plug and should be in with the injector wiring, the ISC is a 6 prong plug and I belive it comes off the main efi harness at the firewall straight back from the throttle body itself.

Do you mean you took your intake tube off, or your intake manifold? You said by where your ignition was, so I am assuming you mean spark ignition...there is a transistor pack down by the coils. Does it look like any of these?

yea its held on with a brass plate i am pretty sure thats what it is, even though the pic makes it hard to tell the size, how will that not being hooked up affect my car, and what do i hook it up too? it has the main plug..is that all there is to it?

Its held on to the brass plate with like 2 screws I think...there is only one plug that plugs into it.

...it needs to be plugged in. It controls the power/spark to your coil pack. If its bad, you'll have weak spark on either 1 or both of your coils.
