Hey there, this should be an easy one. Not sure exactly what the two different electrical plugs are for mounted to the intake manifold stay are? The reason i ask is because a red wire comming from the bigger one grounded to the engine block snapped. Not sure what i should do about it(as in leave it or actually wire it back up) Any suggestions or help would be appreciated!

Bit.

Can you post a pic? I just got done putting my motor back in my Galant so I recently dealt with all the wiring. Is the plug directly behind the manifold or off to the drivers side?

Ill have to wait until i can get my camera back from my sister, but i will try to explain the best i can in the mean time. Looking at the engine bay from the front of the car. There is a ground strap attatched to the back of the block. This wire is red. Now on the intake manifold braket there is two plugs. The one on the passanger side is oval in shape and there is a white wire hanging off of it. On the driver's side there is a square plug. I believe the ground (red wire) is somehow supposed to be attached to the oval one. Both plugs get there respective plug-ins from the injector wiring harness. Damn i wish i had my camera!

well hook it back up already!!!.....there is a plug behind the intake for a knock sensor and one for a noize filter if it is a 90'.......if it is going into any type of plug it's not just a ground so put it back where it belongs just to be on the safe side.....:dsm:

LOL, the car is not running at the moment! Im in the process of replacing the HG and other things. I believe the knock sensor is the one that isnt damaged, but the other one seems like its supposed to be grounded for some reason. I think the wire broke when i took of the head :(

I don't know if the 90's are wired a whole lot different... I'll look in my manuals. I want to say look at the starter and make sure both connecters are still attached there. They shouldn't have been moved when you removed the head, but they are located at the back of the block and are in the same bundle of wires.

Well i know that most people when removing the head while the intake is still attached only remove the top two bolts of the intake manifold stay. One of my bolts started to round off so I instead removed the bottom bolt off the stay and must have pulled the connectors along with it. Thats where i believe i stripped the knock sensor wire... It was so hard to see under the intake manifold that i didnt see any of the wires attached(oh well its my first head job, but i wont make that mistake again). Im just not sure what to do with the knock sensor wire and im also thinking that there might be a second wire in the same line that got covered up when the wire covering stretched. Im going to take it off today and see if maybe i can sodder it make together. Cant really seem to find any info on the wiring though...

first off..remove that stupid ass bracket. next, plug everything back in that was unplugged...ones a knock sensor and its VERY improtant. there is also a dumb little bracket that has a wire or 2 running to it that is also bolted to that big bracket, just bolt that somewhere on the intake maniold, it needs to be grounded.

Not sure exactly what your saying but yeah i can plug everything back in, but thats not going to help me when a wire is disconnected to one of the plugs(knock sensor)

oooo...so u pulled one of the wires out? ehhh. if its the knock sensor, you can take the knock sensor out of the block and get a new one. its like 75 bucks. i would risk rigging it back together.

Where might i find one in a hurry?
I dont think im going to risk rigging it back up because the red wire came out completely from the plug so it would be insanely hard to wire it back up.
