What would a 2g Laser have looked like

The Neon superceded the Shadow and Sundance, it has no relationship to the Diamond Star Club. One could speculate that the Avenger and Sebring where the Diamond Star mobiles to set on the Chrysler parking lots, but I think it just comes down to the fact that the chrysler dealers did not need 2 models of the same car (talon / laser) to compete against eachother...

"Well you think that Talon is great but you dont need the leather seats and the sunroof, well I have this cheaper model over here in a Plymouth"

Its just counter productive, instead they make a car based on the same platform but has more back seat room and people dont really connect the dots that they are similar. Save production costs and add another model to the line up.

If you want to imagine a 2g "laser" just take an Eclipse RS and put plymouth badges on it thats more or less what they were from 90-94.

Someone want to do a better job LOL

I'm working on it. Its not a photo though, it's going to look like an inked concept car rendering. I'm drawing it freehand, front/side/rear, and inking it in PS so its going to take a few days. I do have a day job. :)

Sounds good to me Gofer. Just got bored watching top gear and threw something together LOL:thumb:

My computer that has P'shop just got a Trojan :notgood: so this project's temporarily on hold. Hopefully I can get it figured out and cleaned up.

Gofer: what are you using to freehand? Pencil, charcoals?

Haha, didn't know anyone else still used CS2. That's what I have on the home machine too. That sounds like a pretty ambitious approach. I think the results are going to be spectacular though.

Heres where I'm at with the first angle, just working on the 2g body lines and learning as I go. Hiding the sketch so you can't see the pencil sketched Laser front/side skirts... :shhh:

I am thinking, no wing, and a venge front end....

I really like this idea :thumb: Since I have always wondered the same thing. Let's get a few facts out there though...

1. The first generation Laser had a different front bumper than the Eclipse or Talon

2. It also had different tail lights

3. It usually lacked a spoiler and the ones that did have a spoiler were much different looking than the Eclipse or Talon

4. The Laser of course had a different emblem (the chrysler star)

5. Some Lasers had that pin stripe that went across the side where it said "Laser" at the end of it

Hope that steers some Photo shop pros in the right direction for creativity, instead of copying and pasting pieces of a 2G Eclipse or talon.

A bit of progress, what color should I paint it?

Blue, like mine :)

Or at least a color that lets us see the lines and bodywork clearly. And I think the Chrysler pentastar should be accentuated a little more.

I'd say do black/gold.

that in my opinion was one of the more unique paint jobs to the laser, with the black body / gold trim and some models had gold lining and lettering in addition to the gold trim.

Corey is going somewhere with his design..I like it alot..But do you think they would have went with almost the same front bumper design?

I guess any design is better than no design right..

good work, but this just looks like a 2g wit ha front body kit so far....:hmm:
Any bumper we come up with for a 2g Laser is going to look like a body kit because it was never OE from the factory. Thats actually what the 1gb Laser bumper looked like, just tweaked a bit for the 2g. Gotta start somewhere...

I made mine................................

ROFL

But no seriously Corey, send that in to Mitsubishi, or I will! Maybe you can get some actual designs out of it?

I'm sure they have 2g laser concept drawings...
