So I just bought a 99 gs-t, and I got it home popped open the trunk to check on the status of the spair tire. Instead what do i find? Some sort of resavour, I'm guessing either methanol or h20 cooling. I'm curious how to go about finding out exactly what it is, and if its put together right, as well as what to refill it with. Its definatly designed for the car, it bolts in the wheelwell perfectly 3 tubes and a set of wires running from it, one small tube 1/4" and one larger 1" or so. I followed one tube up and it appears to run to where the rear wiperfluid would be poored in, but I doubt it's used for that on a spyder ;)
Sorry for the quality of pic here, my phone dosent do well in the dark.

HAHA not to burst your bubble but that is the washer fluid resivoir. Notice how you fill your washer fluid from under the hatch. No worries. I'm sure your not the first.

Why would I have one of these in a Spyder?!? Is it for the front wipers too? I have no "hatch" just a trunk.

I do beleive that the turbo 2g models do have thier washer fluid reservoir in the trunk, I will check my manual and confirm in 10 minutes.

The mitsu engineers ran out of room in the engine bay and put it in the trunk.
When i first got my car it took me some time to figure out its in the back.

Thanks guys. That was a trip, I dont mind it being in the back thats for sure. More room under the hood is always welcome especialy when I start adding on to whats there looking for space. When I had my NA dsm I just didnt understand, now its very clear. Too bad tho, it would be nice to come across acar with that already in place :p

Wait until you take it to an oil change place that refills the fluid. They'll hunt for ten minutes in your engine bay for the reservoir and then finally come up to your window: "Uhh... umm... where's your..?" Kinda fun.

Word of caution though: In colder climates it's very possible for the fluid to freeze, since it can't be warmed by the engine bay. I notice you're in Arizona, so you shouldn't have to worry about it. Mine's frozen at least twice though.
