What is this sound?

I just want to know what this sound is. I have a few thoughts but I want to hear what others think it is. This is a 6bolt swap in a 2g spyder 5 speed.

It sounds a lot like a lifter that isn't primed up yet.

I agree ^^^
I can hear a little lifter noise but there is a much louder solid knock in there.
Might have some lower end problems.
Go get some cheap mechanic's stethoscopes.
Listen to it from underneath & see what it sounds like.

Rod bearing.... Not to say it it is definitely, just based on what I heard and a similar video I made... but I have had 2 with bad rod bearings and they both sounded like that...

I'd do it when I go check on it tomorrow. I believe it gets much louder

That is definitely something wrong internally. There is no way that's lifter tick. Pull the pan and see what the deal is, hopefully you can catch it before it screws up more than the crank.

No it is not typical lifter tick, but a collapsed lifter will sound just like that.

Collapsed lifters will throw their rockers off quickly as well which can cause damage depending on where the rocker goes.

Def sounds like a spun bearing as my old motor sounded exactly like that. Unplug each of the spark plug wires one at a time to see if it eliminates the noise. If one of them does, don't touch the car anymore and it's time for a rebuild.

sounds like the motors toast. spun bearing is def a possibility
