This is probably a dumb question, but what is the part called that holds the front suspension in place and bolts up to the knuckle in a 1g? Does anyone know where i can find this part? :hmm:

Hey guys I have no clue what this is called It looks like a cover that goes over the crome piece. The one on the other side is fine but this one was cracked and peeling when I got it.

Hello fellow dsmers,
I can't for the life of me find this part. I believe it's some sort of switch that helps control the idle. Can someone please tell me what it is called & where can I find one. My idle fluctuates between 1200-2500 every couple seconds. Ibelieve this is what is causing this problem.

It's #7 on the diagram. It holds the throttle plate open just a little bit but it has a male connection on the end. Unfortunately I live in CA where the emission laws are as shitty as the gun laws, so I have to smog this badboy so I can drive it. Thanks I appreciate any responses or suggestions.

Its a idle switch i have a few laying around if you need one just send me a PM ill send you one

"The idle switch triggers the ECU into doing various things like cutting the fuel if the rpms are too high at idle or making the ISC emulate a dashpot on deceleration. "

I got this intercooler piping from someone yesterday. I was told it would fit my 2g and I can't find a way to make it work. What is the application for this? Is it the upper IC pipe for a 1g? I'm going to sell it.

You can make it work. What is stopping it from fitting? You can move the fuse box a little bit to make it fit in a 2g.

Yea I have a brode upper ic pipe so I don't need it anyway. But because of where the flange is it was way too much work to use it, plus I don't have enough tubing to compensate for the weird bends. Figured it was for a 1g just wasn't sure. Thanks!

What exactly is that? If you can find a picture of a pipe similar to this in a car that'd be helpful, I've searched the web for a few minutes but couldn't find one that seemed close enough.

The short pipe kit is what it means. It minimizes the distance of piping so instead of taking the 2g stock piping route all the way around, it shoots directly down under the intake pipe to the intercooler. Also the same as the hotside goes right from intercooler to the Jpipe connected to the turbo. I recommend getting the VRSF kit as it is quality and very affordable in the market of these kits. They are also a supporting vendor.

Cool, thank you!

I was talking to someone at a car meet and they said they chopped this piece off and it gives you better shifts. I didn't beilieve him than I looked at my buddies built gsx that he just bought and his is cut off too. My question is what is this and will it actually benefit to cut this at the base? It's the metal piece connected to the shift linkage on top of the tranny right below the "injen" text on the intake.

I did search, but surprisingly "dsm springy crank ring" didn't yield any results. I'm pretty sure the spring came from the circle around the crank, but what is it's purpose? It isn't documented on any parts list, so I guess you can't buy a replacement.

Also ive got this bigass fat washer thing from when I took my car apart ages ago. I can't figure out what it goes to, or whether its something I deleted. I'm guessing front case but am unsure. Thanks for the help!

The spring is from the old rear case seal. Toss it...unless it means something special to you? The other thing, I don't know.

Oh and if that spring came from the seal that is inside your engine now, your gonna want to get a new seal put in.
