This is probably a dumb question, but what is the part called that holds the front suspension in place and bolts up to the knuckle in a 1g? Does anyone know where i can find this part? :hmm:

It would help if they were numbered so I could ID them rather than trying to say which one im talking about but I will try.

First pic- The silver part looks to be a flange adapter for an oil drain or the pan. The gold bracket looks very familiar to the bracket that holds the compressor cover on to the center turbo piece.

Last picture- That is the A/C bracket that is located on the back side of the block.

^^^ Justin beat me to it.

OK, thanks guys. That was quick! Also, the wire and plug do not fit together.

The wiring harness should be for a GM AIT sensor. Does the car have DSMlink? DSMlink can run speed density which would require an AIT sensor I believe.

Does now. But not when previous owner had it. I want to go SD. I should probably hold onto that one.

So some body must of ran a self bent metal hose to by pass a messed up part. Wonder what id need to replace?

If you wanted to use that line in it's OEM location, I don't know if you can replace it without removing the turbo. The part number for it is MD319841 if you want a new OEM hard line. You'll also want MD112349 and MD301045 (one of each) as they're the preformed soft lines for each end of the hard line.

I really want the car in its pure OEM condition besides the bolt-ons im gonna add. Also afraid that custom pipe will be in the way of a FMIC

that boot is for the clutch fork .if there is antifreeze on it its probably coming from some where else and dripping on it . check your lower radiator hose where it goes to the thermostat housing sometimes antifreeze will seep out the hose where the clamp is . you have to take the hose off , clean the housing and maybe change the hose with a new clamp .

The piece with that line going to it is the slave cylinder. Two bolts hold it in place on the bottom front of your transmission. If what I read is right, you pull the boot back and it leaks, it needs to be replaced. It should not leak at all. And that system should be filled with brake fluid.

Thanks guys. I just bought the car a month ago. The previous owner said it was replaced a year ago. But it does leak a greeish black color. If i move the little boot side to side it sprays out that liquid.

If the liquid that comes out of the boot smells like the liquid in your Clutch Fluid Reservoir (located on the firewall) then your slave cylinder is shot. I would highly refrain from driving it a lot and would highly recommend you order a Genuine OEM replacement, if you need one ASAP and absolutely cannot wait; then go to your local auto parts store and get an aftermarket replacement, but still order a genuine OEM replacement Slave Cylinder for when that other one goes South in 6 months.

Most of the work done to my car was done by the previous owner, I've only had it for about 3 months. Yesterday I took the battery holder out, and found a vacuum line stuffed below that wasn't hooked up, and it lead to the firewall. Just want to know what this was originally for in case it's of any importance. Any input would be great.

I'm with Jimmy, I believe it's the 98's & 99's that have the charcoal canister located above the gas tank. Look at the hose routing diagram on the hood, it should represent that. It's not a big deal to have hooked up unless you have emissions. Just make sure it doesn't get kinked and filled with dirt, otherwise it can build up a lot of pressure in the tank due to it's inability to vent.
