Alright,

My goal for my '93 Talon TSI FWD is 100mph traps. Easy enough huh? Well the thing is I don't want to mess with fuel adjustments like an SAFC. Check out my planned mod list and comment on what else I need or my combination:

K&N Open Element w/ Intake Tube
Ported 2G Exhaust Manifold
14b w/ 7cm^2 Exhaust housing
Full 2.5" exhaust with no cats
MBC @ 14 psi
Walboro 255lph fuel pump

This is my daily driver so I just wanted to keep it strictly to bolt ons (a lot of them are repair/upgrade so that kills two birds with one stone) and be able to get in and drive without having to worry about the tune of things.

Thanks for your help.
I forgot to mention....I am 5300' above seal levl...

Yikes, your going to have a fun time doing that without fuel adjustment. If you don't mind me asking, whats your reason for not wanting the AFC? It is pretty easy to install and it will help a lot especially where you are. You are really going to need a larger turbo too. I have a buddy with a small 16G and he is running 12s with a high 90s trap and we are in the midwest so we don't have the altitude issues you guys do.

Wow I was under the impression that I could pull 100 traps easy in a FWD with the 14b. :( Does your friend have an AWD or a FWD? My friends GSX trapped 93 mph up here with just an intake and MBC.

Well my reasons for not wanting to screw with an AFC and tuning is because this is my daily driver. I have an AFC on my Stealth and I am so anal about tuning that I find myself screwing around with the trims too much trying to get them to 100. I really would like to avoid the temptation on my DSM if possible. I was looking just to throw some bolt ons on and be able to spank some GT mustangs on the trip to work and school (if not I can always break out the stealth and go Cobra hunting!!)

You are gonna need an AFPR with that fuel pump to hit those traps. Get a logger and turn the boost up after that. A FWD car can hit those traps almost stock, you should not have that much trouble. I hit 100mph with a t-25 in an awd which should have lower traps than a fwd.

True. An AWD will have lower ETs but trap a little slower than a FWD. I think this is just from the extra weight and drivetrain drag. A FWD should run higher ETs than an AWD and run faster traps. This is just usually, there are always exceptions. A 14b should definitely get you 100mph. Launching is the hard part, especially with FWD. Good luck.

Ok here I go...I pulled anywhere from 93-96mph STOCK so with those mods without the fuel pump you should be able to do it with good driving. Exhaust intake and some ic pipes you should be there or pretty damn close.

If he has a Low Pressure pump he won't need an AFPR. He will def. benefit from a logger of some sort. I hit many 95+ mph traps with my car before the 20G.

These guys are all crazy.

On the 14b, you will easily trap at 100 mph on race gas, with stock fuel pump, stock injectors, stock SMIC....

All you need is race gas and more boost.

My car (AWD) ran 102 mph on pumpgas with 450's and a 190lph pump, 14b, SMIC, 3 inch exaust, and like 16-17 psi.

Considering you are FWD, you should be fine.

Maintainance and stuff like pressure testing are the keys to fast speeds.

I believed you and trust your advice, I am buying your friends parts! That says somethin' right?;) .....I just wanted to get some more opinions and see what the guys on here have to suggest. Seems like there is a lot of variance in advice. But never the less I appreciate everyone's opinions on the subject.

I have some local friends (fellow dsmers) that once I mod it that I am gonna regret it and it is going to break and I will be SOL. I am like, "WTF?"

i ran a 98 trap with a k&n and a gutted cat everything and i mean everything else was stock, full body too..

try dropping a little weight out at the track

really i think you should be at 100 how many trips to the track

maybe a few more passes (practice)
