I'm getting my car ready for MOD(July9th) here in SoCal. My semi faded sideskirts+door inserts above & turbo wing = repainted and installed. My front bumper is now completely prepped and ready for paint hopefully by tomorrow! ;)

I also plan to powdercoat my enkei evo9 wheels gloss black. Should look sExY!

drove my car home, 96 tsi with 6 bolt swap, wiseco on eagle rods with ported head 280 bc cams, 1mm oversized valves, 3g lifters, and a pte6262 with meth!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Today I picked up a freshley machined head. Then proceeded to the performance shop and bought a super tech valve train, kelford 272s, and hks cam gears. Not a bad day at all! :D

started building my block.

pounded in the freeze plugs

assembled the rods and pistons

measured the ring end gap

smiled alot.:D

Look at it disgustised for the first time. Car is pulling like an auto 95 honda civic without vtec... honestly.
And no one's helped me with this yet

Oil is leaking from my f'in vc to head and track is next month so priorities have to be reset.
Stupid AC isn't blowing cold enough for hot 106 degree weather.
Gonna jack my car up tomorrow to show it some love and hopefully it loves me back LOL

since it got dark out and i couldnt assemble the motor last night i got motivated and polished some parts while i waited

Was going to try to get an idle and cruise tune set but my brand new LC-1 on the fritz again. :notgood::notgood::notgood:

Does anyone know what it means if the LED is solid but the gauge blinks at 7.4:1 AFR? The gauge is hooked into the brown wire btw.

If you can try to log with ## laptop with the LC1. It will give you what error its seeing. But if i where you Downgrade the Firmware on the Lamda controller to i think 1.0 there is only two 1.0 and 1.1 i think. I had to do that with the one on my mazda before it would correctly.

Ok I'll have to get an adapter to make the LC-1 cable work on my laptop (both are female connectors) and I'll try that. Thanks for the reply.

So nope! No ooze coming out of knock sensor.
Took off my greddy to post for sale. Adjusted fp actuator. Played with new floor jack that got in. Check tsmall for shaft play, check strut tower for wear and play cause I've been getting noise during bumps.
Get ready for track if possible. Tomorrow, rotate and inflate tires! Yah! 105 degree weather tomorrow!

Today I bought some brake line tubing so I could use my MBC in the cabin while I am driving, so I bent the lines and set it all up and works perfectly. :D Also, I worked on my custom gauges a bit more today so they don't become completely transparent when I turn the dash lights on.

What do you use to polish that stuff?

I start out with a course 180 grit sanding disc on a 19000 rpm die grinder using very little pressure to smooth away the casting flaws and imperfections. I then move on to a fine disc on the same die grinder and use a little more pressure to smooth out the sanding marks from the course disc. I then switch over to 400 grit wet sand paper going 1 direction only, then step up to 800,1000 then 1500 switching directions 90 degrees each time. after the sand paper i move to a dremmel tool for the small/weird angles i couldn't get with the die grinder.

After that i move back to the die grinder with a 3" cotton buffing wheel and use a gray fast cutting rouge. after that is done I switch cotton discs and use a red jewelers rouge to polish it. For a last step I use mothers mag and alum polish to polish and seal the aluminum.

between each step i rinse the piece to remove any left over compound or stray grit and material.

all of my supplies and tools (except the dremmel tool) came from harbor freight

I got brand new timing covers! All three pieces. 2 new 12in fans, factory alt (get rid of this gm bs), Black ISC, and gauge pillar pod all for $40!

just filed all my ring end gaps and checked them in all for directions for an accurate gap check.
