well wasnt today, was friday but pulled an 11 second pass out of it on only 20 psi on the 16g, so now I just have been enjoying looking at the car knowing it runs what it did and that it's not currently broken haha

Did red l.e.d conversation since my car is red and all. Still waiting on the 31mm festoons for the truck and dome lights.

Inspected my logs from my last short drive across town, and found my alternator is on its last legs. Above 2200rpm, voltage spikes to over 17V and hits 18. At idle, it's 13, under 13, then under 12.
Yep. Finally done.

Now to look for a Saturn alt, used or new, don't care. Even though the relocation bracket is extra neat, I cannot support the fact that it costs more than $50 more than a new alternator, and is only a couple pieces of steel. Yes, mass production has its benefits, but god damn this is rediculous. I'll see how a used unit works for the summer and leave it at that.

Hey, at least this should help solve my inability to get a steady tune, and cruise at 2200rpm should no longer require 15% more fuel. I've dabbled in the InjBatAdj a bit, but with an alternator that swings this much, it's too inconsistent to get something solid down.

Debated on what clutch to use in the 2GB GSX. I want something that'll be as close as physically possible to the stock clutch pedal's softness, but still hold a fully supported 16G setup. Having a tough time...it's been almost a decade since I've messed with a 5-speed DSM at all.

Installed zinc plated socket head cap screws for rear upper control arms. Closest thing I could find to OEM10's (These are 12.9)

Reinstalled rear diff. Torqued all 4 mount points. Torqued subframe nuts.

I guess I'm too used to seeing pickup trucks on the road. I was expecting to see more of it. :)

New decal will go on, whenever my printable vinyl arrives.

Don't you hate it when you try to do something to save money and end up worse off?

This was last week or so..

To get up to speed, my 92 Eclipse GSX started missing badly. So I did a compression test, and got 110, 5, 5, 130... HG between 2 and 3 is shot. So while I was setting up to swap heads, found a motor, transmission, transfer case, a bunch of accessories, motor mounts, etc etc. I thought, SWEET! Since the head was off I did a search for the part number on it, turns out the motor has Wiseco pistons, 9:1 compression!

Awesome, says I. I figure, you know, since it's this far apart, It would be great idea to look through the rest of the motor to see what rods it has to match the pistons. Figured if the bottom end is good, I got me a great motor!

I did closer inspection, and found out the guy I bought it from had used screwdrivers to pry up the aluminum head. >.< Better dig deeper. So I get the oil pan off and find what appears to be a chunk off of something. Has threads on it, but other than that? No idea.

Best i can figure is an old connecting rod or something. But nothing else. But then I look down the connecting rods. And I find this.

I'll be damned if that does NOT look straight. What, the hell? So.. Instead of just a $700 motor, I gotta find connecting rods, and with the pistons being 9:1 vs the factory 7.8:1, I might want to get beefier rods. Oh well.. Go big or go home.

Picked these up from pick-n-pull. Hopefully I didn't overpay too much.

Covered in grime, all I saw was cheap looking sleeves, with yellow struts peaking out from behind the crud. Then I looked closer..... eibach springs.... then I started scrapping till I saw Koni Adjustable. :)
