since i had spine surgery a week ago had a friend come over and wire in my wide band and put the sliders on the corbeau seats and get them put in for me.

next visit he is welding my wastegate dump and making my direct link throttle cable.

few small things left to bolt up and the car is done.. registering the car tomorrow and gunna drive it soon.

Already have a photoshoot set up with a girl that drives an evo for her to pose with the car.

looks like this will be a very good month

Today I installed my home made MBC and on the first test drive I was hitting 17psi and falling to 16psi and holding. Super smooth the whole time. Gotta love dumb luck eh?

took all the timing components off my 420 and got all but ONE head bolt off  so i have to spend more money for the socket-puller thingy to re-grip it :banghead:

i'm glad i'm not the only one with a stripped head bolt! THE LAST F**KING ONE!!
:f-u:  :banghead:

I got pissed and came home to drink beer. :|

LOL nice. his isn't stripped just the head rounded off -.- I think they were alil over torqued. I didnt have that much trouble with my arp studs taking the nuts off and they are torqued to 90lbs

In the 92... put 50 bucks in the tank, brother Rainexed the windshield. Yesterday I did a boost leak test and found a boost leak at the PCV and the throttle body O-ring.

The 98 got all the love today. Broke loose the other motor mount, pulled off the RH Motor mount bracket, pulled the SEIZED water pump off, replaced it, replaced the pulley, the water pump, the tensioner, put the intake manifold on the freshly rebuilt head, put the head ON the motor, torqued the head bolts, got the cams in place, waiting to get torqued, timed, filled and ran. :D

ok so i have to say my pert because today was full of crap
92 TSi lost #4 ( no fuel all of the sudden after tbelt
so out of frustration grabbed the 95 gts for a drive and well the dumb turbo blew up :(
then i get a call from my wife and her 96 pooed her HG :( so all 3 DSMs are dead in the water

ill have pics soon i hope
also where to start on fixing them

hit a major milestone with the car. its registered and legal. tuning to begin shortly

Realized that every time I do a WOT pull something smells HOT! Smell sticks around for about 5 seconds and then its gone. Pulls smoothly. Not sure wtf it could be since I can't replicate it stationary.

pulled all my old control arm's and replaced them with new one as well as new axel's. also pulled my front gsx brake set up to get ready to install cobra calipers and rotors :D :hellyeah:

cleaned, treated and painted a bit of rust that was on my strut towers...

armoralled inside car, super glued some things back on that were falling off.

Routed the ignition wires properly. It has actually made the car noticeably smoother without them crossing and zig-zagging all over the place.

Just Finished stock engine rebuild sealed valve cover this morning, got her fed oil/coolent. runnin real ruff idle is to low wants to die. looks like more work an research for the rest of the day.

Vac leak?

I ran a BLT and found FIFTEEN boost leaks. (no wonder it was showing 1700+ hz on the SAFC at wastegate boost, and only building 7psi versus the usual 9+ I expect to see... maybe more? Turbo is an evo3 16g)

Boost leaks are(were) as follows

Compressor outlet to LICP (tightened clamp, fixed)
IC outlet to first coupler (ditto)
That coupler to BOV pipe (ditto)
Bov gasket (tightened bolts, fixed)
UICP to BOV pipe (tightened clamp, fixed)
UICP to TB elbow (ditto Notice trend? guess I should have cranked the clamps a little harder?)
TB shaft seals (need to order new ones)
EGR blockoff plate (BIG leak, didnt realize how much of a POS this homemade plate was, might be fixed, doubtful, going to make a new one this weekend)
all the caps on the vac line ports on the tb are dry rotted and leaking. (one fixed, need more caps)
the vacuum port on the IM that the last owner jammed a bolt in to "Block off" without clamps. (fixed, creatively)
all 4 injector isolators in the head (duh, need to order new ones)
and the vacuum line from the outlet pipe to the WGA was leaking a little. (fixed)

*sigh* no wonder.
