What did you do to your DSM today?

My car became part of a bet, and a learning experience for people who are too stupid to listen to someone whose done research.
Friend tells me that there's no reason for DSMs to recirc the blow off valve. I explain to him its metered air, he tells me that its not. I was kinda curious as to what it sounds like so I pulled the tube, we go for a drive. It dies at every stoplight unless some heel toe action is used.
Sounds kinda neat, but anytime it blows off the car stutters.
Now he changes his story..2gs are superior because they don't have to recirc. Lol.
Some people are just full of it.

Test fitted some 18x9's today..They didn't freaking rub to my suprise.

Me want but, I hate buying tires. But I bet those 9 inch wide tires would stick to the ground like a cinder block.

It's not something I'm actually doing but my block is sitting in a hot tank at the machine shop on this day off.
That will be the thing that gets me through this day of work BOOOOOOOOOO!
Know tomorrow I get my block and get to start putting it back together.
Hell it's only been waiting to get tanked for 8 years.

I haven't been on awhile, but my 91 GSX is at the shop getting a Shepard Stage 1 trans, rebuilt front diff, along with a new Exedy clutch and ACT light weight flywheel. It's going to be light driving a completly different car! I'm excited.

Today I removed the front bracket for the driver's side mount, also the power steering pump and washer reservoir.

Where does the line off your breather.. ^^ tightened valve cover tested for and boost leaks

Today I installed a six bolt I rebuilt all myself. First time I ever did something this big especially by myself. Installed a new clutch as well and thrust bearing. Just need to slap on the head, headgasket, power steering pump, alternator, turbo. and plug everything back up tomorrow then I'll be a happy camper.

Hard to tell, but I sure hope that BOV line is recirculated.

^^ does it matter if oil comes out of it?

That's the crank case vent, so the less the better, but some will. Obviously if it's a stream you got serious issues though. LOL

been trying different ways to get blue lights in my intsrument panel to work evenly. I had to take needles off and put back on. Ran through a Radar trailer, showed 15 mph off, thank God I was in the positive. Will have to adjust when I get home.

Took off my stock exhaust from the downpipe back. 16 year old bolts aren't fun... LOL just ended up unbolting the hangars and letting it drop to the concrete. Huge bang at about 3:30am. My bad.

Also removed the A/C lines since my car doesn't have A/C. Accidentally sliced my power steering line in the process. That was a mess! That stuff is disgusting. At least I think it was power steering I have no idea. But it was gross regardless. Replaced that hose that had a broken clamp anyways so I had to cut it off. Overall gross experience with whatever fluid that was.

Spent the next few minutes scrubbing my garage floor with soap and water.

Put my auto meter oil psi gauge on since my stock one stopped working. Did an oil change and put royal purple oil in it. And than I had to buy the stupid sensor for the oil pressure light.

Here is a video I just put together today after I installed my SRS cat-back with APexi N1 downpipe. I figured other people might wanna hear what it sounds like. Build quality is good and its got a good sound, and doesn't drone on highway The sound isnt awesome but its ok....

I've had one of those exhausts on my "watch list" for over a year now. Thanks for putting the video up for us. Looks like a decent setup for the money to me :thumb:

Find a good gps speedometer and use that in a parking lot. I found when you turn the power on with the needle off, install the needle about 1/2" below the needle stop and rotate the need over the needle stop. Then check your gps app or however you have to check your speed. :thumb:

As for me lately, dealing with an amp that keeps going out. Have had it repaird 3 times now. Flushed and changed engine with amsoil products. Instead of 350 or so before light came on I made 400 miles, my driving style is casual, I don't put put around, but I don't spin the tires ever, and seldome come close to redline. Decided to go wingless the other day also. Will be doing ball joints and other worn suspension components on a few weeks.
