It looks like a 1.5 audio jack

It goes to the left side of the dashboard. I should take a better look at it

It was there when i took the carpet out

oh and it is a 2.5mm i think. Ill try to connect my phone when i get the car working

Well, I searched all over looking for the thread that mentions a factory installed car phone option, but to no avail. Maybe I'm just mis-remembering.

turbo_dsm - Can you take a picture of it? Or possible follow it path to see where it leads...? I'm pretty sure it's an aftermarket cable installed by the previous owner. probably something to do with the stereo system or a hands-free phone system.

i installed something similar when i hard wired my radar detector - perhaps the previous owner did the same and was just too lazy to remove it?

I'll try to find out what it connects to

The cable connects to a microphone.

Very odd could have just been for a handsfree phone set-up, just toss it in the trash or try to sell it on egay. See what it's worth to someone other than you.
:aha:

The previous owner had the car for 7 years and probably didn't even knew about this since it was under the carpet heh.

Thanks for the help everyone!

I still think you're smoking something Paul. I'm half tempted to call the dealer tomorrow and ask if any models came with one, but my guess is they won't know how to find out.
LOL I no longer think it's a factory option. I don't know where I got that into my head, but I found no such thing after an extensive search. But, during the 90's, it was popular for people to have their car's fitting for hands-free cell phone usage. I have definitely seen that here on this site a couple times. I still think that's what that microphone is for.

its most likely for a radar detector or some other device from the previous owner. i have one in my car to hook my laptop up too for dsmlink
