Hey guys, I have a 92 eagle talon, has evo 16g,3 1/2 inch turbo back FMIC etc....was wanting to know what amount of boost i could run on the 16g and still be safe for daily driving? Im running 10 pounds at the moment any suggestions would be a huge help thanks.

You need to be more specific. Do you have any way to tune the car? What kind of fuel system mods do you have if any?

Like i said i dont know what tuning mods the car has i just got it no to long ago, The guy i got it from said it was tuned on 10 pounds upgraded 450cc injectors,Thats all i know....Just wanting to know how much boost could you run on a evo 16g?

450cc injectors are not uprgrades. Those are stock. 10 lbs of boost is also stock.

Grab yourself some 750cc injectors and something to tune with (Dsmlink, SAFC-2), and raise the boost until your Injector Duty cycles reach about 90% at redline.

No one knows what amount you'll be able to run. A safe amount of HP on a stock motor is all up to the motor.

You can however run about 15/lbs of boost with the 16g before your stock tune will run out of injector. This isn't the safest method to DD a car, as its just following your stock tune/timing map.

Before i even think about turning the boost up i will have the stuff to tune the car right was just wanting to know based on what is done to the car what amount of boost could i run with that turbo.

Im still saying that 450cc injectors are stock. You cant tune with those.

Your motor stock, could probably handle 300whp.

So, grab some 750's or some 1000's, a 1:1 FPR, A way to tune, and start adjusting the boost to where you feel comfortable.

Go look at some members dyno #'s and adjust boost accordingly.

Id say a good 25 psi with 16g will get you in good standing, but no one knows what 25 psi will do for your set-up?? You have to go to a dyno.

I understand....and i will, just ordered me some 750cc injectors, sorry for being newbish just got into dsm's not to long ago only know very little about them so far. You're help as been very useful and i will deffiently do what you said.

No problem, I just get a little angry when "you" the buyer, gets told that 450cc injectors are upgrades, and 10lbs of boost is something Extraordinary. Seller should be shot.

Good luck to you, If you have any other questions I would be glad to help!!

Your on the right track though. 750CC injectors, 1:1 AFPR, 255 wally, 16G, and a way to tune. Thats an easy way to make your car pretty quick.

If you are going with ECMLink you are fine. If you are going with an SAFC (not recommended) then you will also need a logger. You cannot just "turn the boost up", you need to make sure you aren't knocking/pulling timing.

15psi should be fine im running 17psi on my 14b on stock 450cc. i have a walbro 255 and FFWD fuel kit though.

And you sire are well over 80%IDC and more likely at 100%IDC. You need to turn the boost down to at MOST 15 psi until you have full fuel mods supported along with tuning. So what if you have a larger pump and larger line, you are still classified as a stock fuel system as you are still on stock injectors. You are not able to flow more fuel nor are you able to tune the amount of fuel required to properly lean out the AFR. If your AFR's are lean at 17psi using the stock 450 injectors then you are at or over 100%IDC and you need to turn the boost down.

With a 16g I wouldn't recommend over 12PSI MAX on the 1g fuel map as you will be flowing a crap ton more air compared to the 14b and you will max out your injectors which will cause damage if they are not pulsing properly.

Here's my bit of advise, listen to Absit and forget about buying this or buying that. Keep the boost at 10PSI and do your maintenance or it may come around to bite you in the ass. I will say first off congrats on the purchse!! :applause:

Now first thing first, fluids flush of tranny, oil, and coolant, change the timing belt and if possible balance shaft elmination but at minimum do the belts and pulleys/tensioner (for timing belt). Once you have hoses checked/replaced, new belts, and fluids flushed, Its time to do a full boost leak check. Once you have all that done, then find some way to at least log the car to verify that you aren't knocking/pulling timing etc.

Then its time for the fun stuff!!! :thumb:

Yes i agree im gonna go with what absit said, and just keep it there for now,and begin maintenance on it etc....I appreciate the help guys..very good info on everything i wanted to know...and thanks Alaskan, loving the dsm :hellyeah:
