What type of fans should I run?

Hey guys just looking for some insight on my setup that I have. Currently running a 16g with a PR FMIC setup. We had thought the OEM fan was not going to hit the J-pipe but after driving it for the day it did hit it and break the fan. So do I have to fabricate something with the OEM style fans or are there another type of fan that would be good to use and will cool the car correctly?

Slim fans are the best choice. I got my slim fans from ebay and never had a problem.

I don't even have the A/C fan. My headers kept melting my blades. Haven't had a problem without it.

I ahve a 12" ebay fan along with another unknown brand of 12" slim fan and my car runs around 170*. But I also have my fans running when I turn the ignition on. Ebay fans work fine and you can get them new for 25 shipped.

just ordered the Ebay fans, I would of went with a better brand but I think they will be fine, as long as it works the way its supposed to i'll be havin a good day

In my car I have two mishimoto fans setup in a passenger side push/pull configuration. A little pricey in comparison but they work amazing even during the toughest romp sessions I've put the car through. Be careful with the ebay fans, you always get what you pay for when it comes to electrical parts.

Depends on you goals, uses and setup really. I can tell you that you can even put a spal fan and those slimline fans in the same category. There is a reason the soaps are twice as much.

I think it would be best for people to mention whether or not they have AC when mentioning what fans they are using because having the AC condensor in there with a FMIC makes it more difficult to keep the car cool.

If you can no longer utilize the OEM fans, get the highest flowing SPAL fans that will fit. Be sure to get a correct directional fan for the location as well.

most ebay fans are junk. if you paid 25 you bought junk. dont judge the cfm. those ratings are happily inflated. looks for watt draw or amp draw to see if you are getting good fan. 7-9 amps = junk.....90watts = junk.

good fans draw 12-15amps.... watts will be listed at 160w.
good ebay fans have the curved blades and run about 60 shipped. and they are really good. better than spal without the cost.

mishmoto fans are repainted ebay junk.

evo 8 fans are very powerful. if you can get them to fit they are great fans.

how do I know all this? very difficult in tampa to get a/c to work with front mount intercooler. done a krapload of testing here

^^^ he's got it. Spal is also the only company to rate their fans through the radiator. Just be careful, depending on how many Amos you're already pulling you may need to upgrade the alternator. I just ordered a 160amp alternator today.

I paid 53 for my fans, I have not ran A/c with them yet but I am going to soon. I hope it keeps the car cool enough, or I will just have to go back to a side mount /:
