hey guys so i had one of this befor but it wasnt that great as the metal was really thin, so after i soled the bumper it went with it.

i now thought about making one i actually contacted jay racing they said they would have been more then welcome to make me one, i wasn't sure about the size.
so i thought i would play with some paper and go to town with it.

after 2 hours i came out with this, this is just my mig welder and i tried to clean up with a grinder,
i sent it out to the powder coater today i should have it back next week.

it coste me nothing to make it so if it comes out good ill throw it on the car if it doesn't ill send this one to jay racing and have them make me one at the same specs but alot better ,will see.

please let me know what you guys think off my welds, this is my 4th time welding so pointers will be welcomed.

I like the idea but not sure if the pipe is going to stick out of the bumper or not. I cut mine flush with the bumper. Off Topic: why did you take the gsx wheels off and put the gst wheels on?

You really need to clean up your posts and start using the shift key.

I had no idea what you were even talking about until I saw the picture so you are just making a permanate dump tube out of the bumper, not a wastegate ON the bumper.

So why are you going through all of this trouble instead of just having the dump tube routed out the bumper with regular pipe and a metal plate on the bumper itself?

haha nah i was on the comp when i took the pics,

yeah im going with mirror black, the car on the out side is all white and black but the red oem calipers in candy red.

im trying to keep it as sleeper and clean as possible.

i don't know how good this would look on 1g but if it comes out good i will be backing more this plates for 2g guys.

if so i wont be doing a double plate, as you can see i made one smaller 1" all around and welded it.

it wont be connected at the plate,
this is almost like the jay racing one i will have my dump tube come off the gate all the way to this plate.

and then ill connect them both with the exhaust clamp.

something like this

Amazon.com: Bosal Exhaust Clamp: Automotive

im trying to keep it as sleeper and clean as possible.

I don't see anything sleeper about your car. You've got a carbon fiber hood, painted wheels/brakes, lip spoiler, and an externally mounted dump tube. Your car does look clean though.

Sleeper: A car that doesn't look like much, but is actually really fast.
Example: When I pulled up to the light, I saw this grandma car in the next lane, so I didn't worry. Then the light turned, and it just smoked me off the line. Man what a sleeper.

the pipe wont stick out the bumper,
the extra pipe welded on the sheet goes in to the bumper and then the wastegate pipe will connect to it with the exhaust clamp i posted above.

i did do a weld beed all around the pipe on the out side as you can see on image 2.

as for the gst wheels they are my friends from his rsx,
one time he was over and i just wanted to see how they looked in black, as you can see on that image the jack is still under the car.

and its as sleeper as much as possible but still looking good, having powder coated brakes, fmic, carbon hood and lip doesn't mean its fully built with a stage 3 dog box trans ;)

it will pretty much be something like this "sorry for the 1st grade drawing"

It's pretty much impossible to have a sleeper dsm in nj anymore. Maybe back in the early 2000's you could but now everyone knows these things. Car looks really good though. The welds look like they will hold up but it's tough to say if they are cold or not with the pics that are up. It looks like you used a flux wire from the pics I could see. Make sure when you stop welding you clean off the coating off the weld before you start again.

hey guys so tomoroow i should have some pics for you guys.

ill be getting it back from the powder coater.

ok guys here it is tell me what you guy's think?
i wish i had cleaned it up better befor i sent it out, but i still thik it lookes good"to me at least"

So guys I mounted it on the bumper, as my bumper is still not painted it won't be put on for good yet.

I'll take some pics now with it on and a primed bumper and I'll post pics after I paint the bumper.

Looks good but IMHO I would have done the angle facing towerds the back of the car.

Here is how I had mine setup on my old 2G to give you an idea. Great job overall.

Yeah yours looks good, at first I was going to bring it back as far as you did but I didn't like it.

I wanted to be seen as one unique peace, that stands out on a oem bumpe, and I was thinking it would blend in with the black rims and black lip, and wouldn't be seen.

no its not mirror black i ended up going with wrinkly black as it would give it a better look,
and also it would hide the grinding that was left on it, as you can see from the befor images,
