another thing i noticed in reading your profile. have you done anything with your stock intake? if not your going to need a open intake with at least a 3" filter. also i dont see anything about a front mount intercooler which your going to definatly need with that evo 3 especially seeing as your going to need to be pushing at least 20 psi to push 350 hp out of it.

350 whp on a 1g MAF is gonna be tuff. A MAFT would help eliminate the bottleneck, so would an HKS VPC, or a 2g MAF with an SAFC and custom E-prom, 2g MAF & ECMLink, etc, etc.

The EVO3 16g is up to it easily. Some exhaust manifold port work, turbine inlet porting would help a little. Definitely going to need the above mentioned engine management options, datalogging capability, 550-560cc injectors minimum, fuel pump & rewire, airfilter, boost controller, FMIC, etc. Cams would make it a lot easier, but it could be done with more boost. Real secret is boost and some good high octane race gas.

It could be done in a weekend or two to be honest, depending if you could get all the above mentioned parts slapped on at once and a week or so for tuning.

Hmm, I'd love to recreate my setup but ebay style.
Let me take a crack at it:

Airfilter: $50
Fuel pump: $80-100
Rewire kit: $30
Manual boost controller: $50
FMIC ebay style: $200-$400
Used EVO 560cc injectors: $150
ECMlink w/datalogging & ECU eprom socketing: $700
2g MAF used: $150
ACT 2100 clutch: $350

I get around $2000 total. Could be less with an open source engine management system already mentioned. I like ECMLink for the computer challenged like me.

Couple areas i think he can go cheaper if he shops around:
NXS Boost controller $20- works great for me- gives dsm discount too.
Evo8/9 fuel pump $50 (paid that for my evo8)
Evo8 injectors (i paid $100)
I think he can get a 2g Maf for well under $100. I see them for $50 all day or less at j-yard.
Assuming he has a laptop and eprom ecu, he can use the DsMap if he wants Speed density for much less(sensors <$100). Or he can use Tunerpro RT(free) with the 2g maf for even less than the DsMap. Both will still require socketing of ecu as well as Ostrich Emulator($175)
I would recommend a wideband no matter what setup he goes with- Innovate Lc-1 ($200 w/ gauge)

just want to add one thing. if your going to buy a set of injectors and do deside to go with dsmlink "highly recommended". you should also go larger with your injectors. trust me eventually your going to want more power! i'd go with at least 880's or even larger. which then even opens the door to e85 if you wanted to go that route. i got a new set of pte 880's for $200. buy once and forget about it. MUCH cheaper in the long run.

The thing that I'm curious about is why exactly you're shooting for a goal of 350WHP.

It sounds as if you've got a lot of research to do before you should just jump into this. If you have no clue what size injectors you're going to be looking to get or what kind of Engine Management you want then I think you should open a nice cold bottle of water, put your laptop into your lap and start doing a bunch of reading.

Everything that's been asked in this thread has been covered 100+ thousand times. While everyone who has commented has been correct I think you may be better off finding the answer yourself rather than just asking the question. Maybe that way you will understand what it takes to do this.

Don't get me wrong I am in no way saying you're not intelligent or trying to undermine anybody who has posted thus far. But I think the OP should read rather than accept handouts.

As always good luck on your build and I hope you meet your goal. I'd also start looking into an LSD for your FWD trans (there's my contribution to the thread ;))

EDIT: Oh, and one more thing. I'm suprised no one else has emphasized this just yet. Have you done your maintenance? I'm sure your car could benefit from a tune up, timing belt change, BS delete and a few of the other things recommended under the DSMTuners tech path before you start modding.

i second that.......i just did a bunch of stuff like a punisment fmic, apexi safcII , rc 550cc injectors, wally 255,fuel lab fpr, 2g mafw/hard pipe and K&N ,boost controller,....etc......and figured i could do the timing and maintenance and tunning after i get all this stuff going but when it came time to tune i had already blown my engine from bad a/f ratios, running lean and rich, then lean again, then stoich....LOL.....the engine couldent keep up and i had 150,000 miles on the engine and the the bearings gave out....now im having to rebuild my engine.......so make sure u do all the maintnance first and put your money into tunning while doing each upgrade....or ull end up rebuilding sooner than u want.

p.s. u can run an safc and bigger than 650cc injectors if u have a keydiver-chip supporting those injectors....but u wont be able to tune timing.

He can adjust the CAS for a few degrees adjustment, but it affects the whole timing curve, which isn't really ideal and obviously not as good as full timing control(Dsmap:thumb:,Ecmlink, etc)

maperformance has a great kit for wally 255 afrp and injectors... punishment raceing has a great fmic or you could just go ebay...
