i was just wondering, am i going to have to port my head to reach my goal of 550-600 whp?
i will be using a gt37 journal bearing :(, and a water to air intercooler jst to name the main parts of the system.
how much are you making on your none ported head?

Edit: nevermind I dont know enough about your turbo or intercooler to make that kind of judgment. Please delete my post :)

I would think so. But why wouldn't you? Port the head, exhaust manifold, turbo, and the air manifold. The air flow will be increased therefore increasing power.

What do you need 600 whp for if you're strapped to get the car running before school? Pulling that kind of power needs to be done carefully, not rushed. If you don't have the money or time and start taking shortcuts, you're just going to regret it. Even without a ported head, a GT37, nice intercooler, cams, big injectors, etc etc, are going to give you some impressive numbers.

I don't know about 600whp, but I saw a vid of a completely stock block 2G with GT30 and drop-in cams run a 10.94. Not sure what kind of power that translates into, but if those are the times you want to run, then you're well on your way.

i dont want to port it cause it cost me an extra 500 bucks, and i gotta get my car running by October so i can go to school.

LOL a GT37 size turbo probably would not be very suitable for DD

:/

but yes you should if you really are looking for 600ish hp

are you trying to get this on a stock bottom end? or a 2.3?

You don't need to port your head... a lot of people "port" their heads but they do it for no reason.. Your going to a gt37 but I have to ask, how much psi are you expecting to push out of it??
