w4a33 upgrade recommendation

Hey guys.

I've spent about 2 hours looking at as many w4a33 upgrade threads on this forum. Most of what I ran across seems to be dated from 2004; so I thought I'd ask if what was posted 7 years ago still holds true.

Is IPT > everyone else (not just level10 & alto, but also english, kiggly, shep, beyond-redline, etc)?

I'm pretty much sold on a Quaife front LSD, Translab TL-175, and a Precision Industries Torque Converter. What's still undecided for me is the center differential, the clutch-packs, and the end-clutch; and I'm trying to sort out which ones are the best.

My build will be putting down ~600awhp. The car will be used as a daily driver and only occasionally drag-raced. I already have a trans-cooler & a Magnefine inline filter.

Please recommend me THE ABSOLUTE BEST source for these remaining parts--with an eye on long-term durability.

if it is to be rebuilt the IPT standard overhaul kit will be a good start along with a trans lab shift kit. You already have the external trans cooler so you will be good there. at 600 hp you will need to double stack your flexplates and use longer flexplate bolts.

Dont get confused when looking at clutchpacks as the kiggly clutches are the front clutches and not the end clutches

have you thought about maybe using an eprom TCU to allow for full line pressure when at wot?

Any info on what specifically adjusting the line-pressure does? What would the benefit be on a car already equipped with a shift-kit & a full clutch-pack overhaul? How pronounced is this benefit?

My stock TCU will shift right at 7k RPM in "Power" mode. I'm not really sold on the idea of changing it on a car that will be a DD. (Keep in mind that my setup will be seeing spool ~2500-3000 RPMs).

Going full line pressure will make your shifts..instant..and reduce wear on the transmission by keeping temps lower.

I was under the impression that the shift-kit served the purpose of reducing shift times. Does the line pressure increase reduce them further? I'd like to have less transmission wear, but not if it means my daily driver is going to be shifting gears like a 12 year old learning to drive manual for the first time in his life (clunky, jerky, etc).

I'm also interested in info on the flexplate. I've not heard of this being a flaw before. Details?

If you have a TCU programmed to use full line pressure at WOT you'll only notice it at..WOT.

I guess I'll have to hold off for now then. My TCU is car-specific, afaik. None of the DSM suppliers has likely serviced one before; let alone has one in stock that can be modified and shipped out.
