I am getting ready to buy a new clutch for my car (tonight most likely), and would like to know some opinions on what I should get for my '93 AWD.
I have an ACT XACT flywheel (not installed yet), and the car is more or less stock for now (MBC set about 13-14ish and a muffler). Future mods are injectors, fuel pump, fmic, full exhaust, intake, etc. Probably won't break 300 HP.

My town is pretty small, so I'm not worried about a heavy clutch since there's never really much traffic.
The fun I would have with the car is:
Frequent Canyon runs. About 12 miles of turns and straights, where you get as low as 2nd in some slow turns all the way up to 5th on straights.
I'd probably hit the 1/8th mile no more than 4 or 5 times a year
And maybe some easy launches around town to tend to my need for adrenaline.

I don't want to get something to weak for what I plan to do, then kick myself in the ass because I have to buy a new clutch again.

TIA,
Sawyer

I would recommend the ACT 2100 for your particular hp goals although you could probably go with the ACT 2600 and have plenty of holding power for future upgrades. I just like the way the pedal feels with the 2600.:thumb:

Get an ACT 2600 and call it a day. It'll cover your goals and give you room to grow.

I know I'll probably get frowned upon for this one but the ACT 2600 / street disc combo sucks. I've had 3 different sets of that combo and they all suck. Now let me put this out there before anyone judges. My car isnt' heavily modded per say (wally 255, 950's, e85, s16g @ 19psi, 3" TBE, 91 awd). Those clutches simply do not handle repeated launches (6200 rpm step from Jeff O chip) and long road race style drives. I'm not saying you will have the same luck, just posting my 2 cents. I would recommend the ACT 2600 pressure plate but I would substitute the ACT street disc for the South Bend Kevlar 2g disc. Just my opinion, there are others on here (twicks69 comes to mind) who have used this setup and it works great. Just something to consider before your spend your green...
