Just decided to read through the vw forums cause my friend has a 1.8t jetta and i was wondering how that woud go to race-I know the VR's are all afraid of DSM's but what about the 1.8's

My friend has a Wolfsburg 1.8t.. supposedly 180hp at the crank but he pulls on me pretty hard. His car is somewhat of a freak though. He pulls on other 1.8t's all of the time. It should be close, a 5 speed gst should be quick enough, awd would seal the deal but I wouldn't put any money on it.

Depending upon the year of the Jetta, the transmission and especially the driver, it could be a decent race. It's really balls up though because the cars are similar in weight and power.

yeah my ex girlfried has a 2002 1.8t jetta, and its quick, but it all depends on the driver. i got to drive it and they shift easy. definately a close race though stock for stock

I was pulling on 1.8t basically stock. I have not raced one in awhile, but I imagine it would be alot worse. They are nice cars, but the K03 is a pretty small turbo.

don't bench race, just find out. As for 1.8t's if you lose ther eis something seriously wrong.....
