I have a problem with clutch pressure and after much researching there doesn't appear to be any forums posted that have the same problem as me. I drove home this past winter break from school and found my master cylinder was leaking. I promptly had it replaced (Slave cylinder replaced last winter). However on the way back, I noticed that pedal pressure kept increasing as I drove to the point where the clutch began to slip while driving. I researched and found the "Pedal pump up" forum and adjusted my clutch height and where it engaged (Current height of clutch pedal is just above the brake and has roughly 1.5 inches of free play before disengaging). This appeared to fix my problem for a few days.
However, now when I start my car from a cold start the clutch behaves as normal for ten to fifteen minutes and slowly builds pressure but not to where the free play is gone. Then, when I turn it off and let the car sit for a few minutes and start it warm the clutch becomes hard to push down and all free play is gone. I have checked the fluid level and it remains full.
I am out of ideas. The only conclusion I can come to is something broke right after I got the master cylinder replaced or they installed the master cylinder wrong but the garage shop refuses to be responsible for it, insisting there must be some kind of mechanical problem completely unrelated to anything they did.
My car is a completely stock 96 GSX with 86,000 miles except K&N intake. Any help would be much appreciated.
