No pressure when pushing the clutch, I think the slave cylinder is stuck open, should I just be able to change the slave cylinder or would there possible be something broke?

I can push the slave cylinder in with my hand and if you push in the clutch it will push it back out, but other than that its stuck open...any ideas?
 
Is there fluid on the floor by your feet, coming off the clutch pedal? If so it's your clutch master cylinder, basically the hydraulic boot Is torn or just worn and old.
 
You need a new clutch master cylinder, might as well do slave while your at it, so you don't have to re-bleed the clutch again...goodluck.

No the clutch master is up by the firewall near the brake fluid reservoir, even on a 2g? I left my Chilton otherwise I'd check. It's just a hydraulic deal, that holds clutch or brake fluid. The sleeve that goes around the hydraulic is done for.

I meant yes...
 
Never done it to a 2g but I'd imagine itd be similar. It's not easy or super hard, it's kind of one of those nagging jobs.
 
I just did mine a week ago. Had the old one out and new one in within half an hour. Honestly could have done it faster but i had to clean alot of gunk out of the resivour to put it on the new one.
 
Its an easy job its just a PITA to get wrenches and what not in the tight space to loosen nuts/bolts. I suggest a tapered flare wrench to loosen the hard line on top of the cylinder. Also if you haveit, the A/C lines get in the way.

There are 2 bolts holding it the fire wall. One is a stud on the master cylinder itself with a nut and the other is a bolt that threads into the cylinder. Both are removed from inside under the dash.

I would suggest a brake line wrench unless you like stripped hard lines. $5 and its the proper tool for the job.

Also swivel extensions and sockets make jobs like this a million times easier.
 
Or, screw the hard line, spend $40 bucks and get a braided line that runs from the master to the slave and tear out the hard lines and accumulator. It adds 5hp :)
