So I have about 800 dollars for a turbo, now I was thinking an e316g plus install kit, but I fear it won't be big enough for 375whp on a daily driver:| then I thought a 18g but now I can't find one from the vendors, and I'm not a fan of the td06 housing cause I heard people having problems.

I think the evo III 16g is capable of making 350 with supporting mods. And in my opinion is a great turbo.

Bang for your buck the Evo3 16g is a great turbo. I ran one for quite a while and ran 7.70s @ 95mph thru the 1/8th consistantly. If you go much bigger you will start getting into quite a bit more money for supporting mods.... IC piping, oil lines, etc. Not to mention the price of the turbo itself. I never had any problems with my car with that setup. It is a perfect daily driver turbo.

TD06/06H 20G if you can find a good used one.

The 06/06H turbine wheel provides a little more linear torque curve that FWD's favor. The 20G with a TD05H turbine will hit much like an Evo III 16G, which is fun as hell in an AWD but is quickly played out in a FWD.

I don't know what the hell you're talking about when you say you're not a fan of the TD06 housing....you don't like turbos with downfiring compressor covers that line up with FMIC piping perfectly and eliminate the need for a j-pipe?

Idk I heard something with the 18g with the td06 housing breaking or something. Maybe I am mixing something up.

Since your like the turbo god haha, what should I look into for a FWD daily driver that wants a nasty street car with a 350whp tune and possibly 375whp at around 25ish psi?

Ya i agree the E316g is a really fun turbo for the streets but is def more fun with AWD... But the 20g TD06 would be a lot better for a FWD to get more high end power and avoid some wheel spin.. I think the 20g or 18g TD06 would be the best route for you to go b/c without some fat tires on your car a 16g or a bigger t3/t4 your car prob won't be as much fun on the streets...

I think you mean the FP 18G6SL2, which has been replaced by the HTA68. The 6SL2 turbine wheel was not a Genuine Mitsu part and was providing some owners with reliability issues.

The HTA68 uses a MHI TD05H turbine, the same as the 14B and all of the 16G's made.

TD06/06H 20G if you can find a good used one (they're over $1K new), maybe a Holset H1C or 8-blade HX35 would be my only other choices but the Holset has a rather large compressor cover that may require removal of one of the cooling fans. The 20G should still fit with a stock fan or even a slim fan if necessary.

A good buddy of mine ran a 20G years ago on his 1G with both stock fans in place; he actually trimmed the blades of the passenger's side fan to clear the wastegate actuator.

A 50-trim used to be a good suggestion, but they're losing ground due to Garrett / PTE's poor reliability and fragile oiling. That sort of thing tends to happen when you outsource the fabrication of your parts to China and Mexico.

Don't overpay for a used 20G! Good pricing on a used 20G would be in the $300-$350 range; $500-$550 for one that is freshly rebuilt. The rest of the money could be spent on other upgrades that will allow you to run 25psi; particularly the fuel system.

Justin, do you feel that the FP68hta would spool too quickly compared to the 20g to help prevent wheel spin?

The HTA68 still uses a TD05H turbine and the compressor exducer is still 68mm, the same as the 20G....so I'd imagine it would hit harder; similar to a TD05H 20G.

now with the 20g, would I need the install kit?
You don't need an install kit for an Evo III, either. All you'd need is an oil supply line and a j-pipe; and if you get a 20G you won't even need the j-pipe.

Everything else can be modified and reused from your T25.

Well I can have $1000 but no more. Right now I'm torn between the e316g with install kit b/c I need the Jpipe and the Oil supply, oil drain, both coolant lines, and banjo bolts. or the 20g td06, but then I need an external WG which I really don't wanna run. I think it sounds annoying and I don't mind a few lbs of creep.

you don't need an external wastegate with a 20g.. they have wastegate actuators....(at least the TD05's do)

This is just an estimate if your goal is 350-375 to the wheels so that would mean your HP to the crank would be a little bit over 400. I know the 20g is good up to 500 HP to the wheels. I would invest on an external WG if this is the path that you want to take, then again, how big is your injectors? Also, I'm assuming you already have an AFPR to make this set-up. If your tranny is still stock, I would get better internals for it as well, or quite possibly a LSD. IMHO, an e316g would suffice. I've always wanted a PTE 50-trim but I don't know if this is overkill LOL

Best of luck.
