turbo rebuild parts needed i

i have a evo3 big 16g mhi turbo i need to rebuild, but i cant seem to find a place that sells legit oem or high quality parts i need a new turbine shaft and compressor wheel im attempting to stay away from knock offs does anyone know where i can get legit parts or do anyone have part numbers for the compressor wheel my turbo is A9178-014702

Theres some people on here who rebuild turbo's like pj91gsx and they use great parts, you should ask him and check out his AD it might say the prices.
 
check the Freelancer Products & Services there are a few turbo rebuilders there who can point you in the right direction on the best parts, part #s etc
 
If you need a new turbine AND compressor, you honestly need to look into getting a new turbo or a new CHRA at the very least. At that point there's a very good chance the center housing is wiped out too so any new parts you'd install would just eat themselves in a few hundred miles, leaving you back at square one.
 
the turbine wasnt broken by failure it was broken by over tightening the nut so i grounded down the shaft of the compressor wheel because i needed my car for work and didnt have room for down time
 
Gotcha- so the center housing was OK initially? What was the reason for the initial disassembly?

If you've verified by measurement that the journals are within spec and aren't grooved / scored in any way, and the turbine sealing ring surface in the center housing isn't damaged or grooved in any way, you're probably safe to proceed with a rebuild.
 
there was some slight in and out shaft movement from my bov not opening so i wanted to be on the safe side. theres nothing wrong with the center housing everything was good expect the broken shaft

You'll still need a rebalance of the rotating assembly afterward if you want it to be as reliable as it was when new from Mitsubishi. You'll have about $320-$340 in the entire deal depending who you get to do your balance work for you.
 
thanks alot but are those wheels and turbine reliable ive heard stories about cheap cw that cracked under boost
 
A Genuine turbine is $200, a Genuine compressor is $125....add $150 for the Genuine internals plus $60 or so for a rebalance, and you're better-off buying another good used turbo.

Not all aftermarket parts are bad- you're just at a point where you don't have much choice if you want to repair the turbo at a reasonable price.
 
As JusMX141 said. For what it will cost you to rebuild your turbo you'd just be better off just buying a good used turbo.
