Listen bro, you need to figure out what you want to do with your car and then search on the mods you would need. The site has been up for ages and there are enough articles and posts here that you should find any bit of information that you may need.

Quick recap of what would work well for your new turbo and headers, LOL:
Intake, TBE, 1000cc Injectors or higher, 255 walbro pump, FMIC, new BOV if you're still using the plastic one, cometic HG, ARP headstuds, and DSMLink. I suggest 1000cc injectors due to the fact that a good tuner can have you idling like stock with DSMLink and the injectors and if you feel the need for more power you won't have to upgrade later. You're probably also going to need a clutch to go with all that power as well...

Search the site and I'm sure you can find everything you need.. Hope it works out for you

Oh, LOL and I forgot: If you don't know the maintenance history of the car I suggest you start there. Change all your fluids, your timing belt, BS belt if it's not deleted, brakes/rotors if they're not in good shape, engine mounts, suspension bushings, shocks, struts, etc... Lots of stuff to do on an older car before you instantly try to up the ante by throwing on a bigger turbo..

Twistaye :applause: you covered it all :)

just want to add one more thing before the Op starts modifying , get a boost gauge and the rest of the necessary gauges before starting and maybe you will require a high tension wires and some fuel regulator depending on the tune that you will have and how much boost you are going to run

good luck

+1 Twistaye covered it.

PS: the EVO (pre X) runs a 7-bolt... does that mean it can't go over 300hp? ;) LOL

GL with the build. Nine times out of ten it is the tune that kills the car. Then the engine gets the blamed for being "weak".

Are you serious? Originally I had no plans to post because the OP said "headers" and obviously he didn't search one bit. The only reason people are afraid of 7 bolt engines is because of the "crankwalk" crap. It's 2011 now, I'm pretty sure any 7 bolt engine that was going to crankwalk has done so by now. A 7 bolt engine will hold up to plenty of horsepower, in excess of 350awhp if it is tuned correctly. Why would he go with an AFC neo? That's old school technology..

haha my bad...i warned you that im fresh to the dsm world, as well as the turbo world...just habit to say headers.

i know to do all the regular maintenance before upping the power, i have changed all FOUR <---wtf? belts, dumped/flushed all fluids, got a FMIC, boost gauge was already in the car, and im looking to replace the rest of the bushings on the car as well.

on a side note: after i installed the motor mounts (and torqued the bolts to what it says in the manual) the car (mirrors, steering wheel, my teeth.....) all vibrate at idle but it goes away once i start moving. is it from the mounts holding the motor pretty solid and causing the vibrations to go throughout the chassis?

What Mounts did you use. If they are poly or solid they will make the car shake like crazy. You will get used to it.

Has anybody seen STM's black 2g on stock 7bolts. I believe he is making over 700whp on stock 7bolt motor.

But, before you start turning renches. i would start to get to know your car more and read up on it(techs). if you do your dsm will be golden to you. if you don't thats how a rumor will start about dsm's.

i used poly mounts, so yeah that makes sense now. LOL, and as soon as i get my front mount on i will post up some pics, the flange thats on it is for the stock BOV so my (greddy rs) doesnt match. but being a welder/fabricator by profession im taking the stuff into work tomorrow to fix it. :sneaky:
